  1. Thats Hilarious, it shows Lonna's daughter Heather, Monkey Boy, and his ex girlfriend that lives in Michigan staying at our address. Doesn't say a thing about Lonna and I
  2. I'm glad to hear that it was only $300 worth of aggravation He's a lucky man to be here still, what a scary situation
  3. Gary, That measurement that you have on the pic, of the carb on the right side. Is that measurement 1.117? That is what I am looking for as far as my question, a measurement that I can take with a set of calipers from a solid point. To keep me from having to guess where the initial set point is. Another thing Gary, the Vmax gasket kits are what I bought for these carbs, did you use the float needle that came with the kit and/or the seat? Carl, I apologize for not being clearer with my question, I know of the center point on the carb and the distance of 15.50mm to 16.50mm where the float is set from that mark heading towards the bottom, Thank you for the input also.
  4. I have not had good luck searching the 1st gen tech area on setting the carbs on my '86. I have done them, in the past, like the manual states. Frankly this is a PITA as you have to assemble and pull apart the carbs till the tube fill line is where it states it should be on the center. The G2's are WAY easier to set as there is a measurement where to set them. My question is to any of the 1st genners, have any of you come up with a measurement that can be used to set the floats, like on a G2? If I can't get a response in a day or so I'll be doing it the manual way, but if there is an easier way to set these things....I'm all ears!
  5. Were looking forward to it my friend!

I had a friend when I was in the service had one and they take LOTS of practice. They can be a very expensive crash too Have fun with it bud, bring it to MD this year and we can watch you fly it
  10. I too got to talk with David yesterday, it felt really good to hear his voice again. Were gonna work on getting over to the house and visiting him soon.
  11. All the best to you Earl, nothing to worry over. My Dad has his replaced 2 years ago, just after we moved here to Texas, and we stayed with him during his recovery. He is doing great and has been pain free since.....take care of yourself my friend.
  12. You seem to me to be a fairly hands on guy. If I was going to convert that into a trailer I would custom make a box, more than likely out of aluminum diamond plate. It could be made to your dimensions and would look good. I have made several trailers and my 1st one was a diamond plate truck box that pulled great and looked just as good....
  13. Looks great Tom, I know you and Debbie will enjoy it!
  14. Thanks Lewis...I'm still wiping the tears from my eyes
  15. Tom....mid 60's and sunny here in Texas this weekend
  16. Happy Birthday Jim!!!!!
  17. I'm with you 100% George, I tried to keep my mouth shut....but I can't. The Oberlin Inn treated us very badly a few years back, and although it's closer, I never forget getting shafted. They will NEVER see another penny from me, ever. Y'all can stay where you want, but I'll drive 10 more miles to make sure I hurt them where it hurts most...in their pocket book
  18. It's a labor of love Jeff......
  19. I dont personally have any experience with Ducati's, but they dont call them "Monster" for nothing. A well deserved "Thank You" for your son as well
  20. Jeff, There is a ton of information here on the site, you could sit for weeks and not read all of it. Your '83 sounds like a standard, the royale is the full monty, with radio/cassette CB and CLASS air suspension. If the bike has been setting as long as you have been told it will need lots of TLC. The carbs will definitely need attention, all fluids will need changing and so on. Up at the top of the forum page on the 2nd blue line, there is a search option. Type in what your looking to learn about and it will bring up all the posts with that criteria. It will save you a lot of time with getting questions answered. The 1st gen Tech Library in the forum area is a great source of information also....Welcome to the club.
  21. Ron, I personally have never heard of oil leaking from an AIS, thats not to say it's not so. I know this may seem like a dumb question, but are you sure it's not leaking from somewhere else and finding it's way to that AIS box and leaking off of it? As far as I know, there is no oil involved with that system, strictly emissions and vacuum.
  22. Never easy to loose anyone Margaret, but I'm envious of you that you had him for so long. The memories you have of him will be good ones, and he will always continue to guide you throughout the rest of your days....all the best to you and your family.
  23. Yeah....we do Gotta get your butt down here, there is some awesome roads to ride down here
  24. Zipcode, Zipcode, Zipcode....What an awesome idea bro! Had an EXCELLENT day today with about 130 miles on the bike It is always great seeing the brethren of Houston and points beyond. A great show for the last day of 2011 and I really needed it...(Lonna Too) Thank you again for thinking of it and happy New Year to all our friends that came and spent time with all the nut cases from the greater Houston and there abouts Texas area!!
