  1. Y'all be careful over there Jeff, been through those 'canes and they suck!
  2. Mike is good people and I too miss him on here, lots of folks have come and gone. It's still good to get new blood in here though, as well as reminisce about brothers and sisters from the past
  3. Squidley

    Topless!

    Good looking Jeep there Jeff
  4. It was good chatting with you earlier Walt, and I'm glad that the rearend came in today. I always hate having to hurry up and finish something before I leave to go somewhere on the bike
  5. Very cool! Do you have any extras of this patch that can still be purchased?
  6. Y'all will have a good time, it makes me sick that the finances aren't here this time as we have gone the last 6 years in a row. Lots of pics so we can vicariously live through all of you folks
  7. Jeff, So sorry to hear of your mother, I know it's a few days after you have posted this, but I wish your family all the support that God can give you....all the best my friend to you and your family.
  8. Another problem with the stock horns isn't necessarily the horn itself, but the puny wires that feed it. If you upgrade to a different horn, make sure you feed the new horn with all the power it wants, thats how you get loud. The Carbon One wire harness it outstanding and I have installed several on various bikes. It's a larger gauge wire with a relay that is hooked directly to the battery. This setup will actually make the stock horns considerable louder as well
  9. The biggest thing I have always done is not to keep it at the same RPM/Speed for an extended period. I'm also with Monty in the fact that I'll drive it like I normally will, and that may embellish a few speed limits from time to time....not that you'd know about speed limits Dave
  10. Congrats on retiring Peg, I told my Mom when she was eligible to get SS to do it. Fortunately she and my step dad bought a foreclosure very cheap in Michigan and are renting it out after they renovated it. This gave them the income they needed for her to do it so she retired last month....enjoy your retirement
  11. I appreciate y'alls input, just for a bit of clarification. AT&T does own the phone lines, but when I talked with them, they explained about the DSL running along the copper phone lines. I have to be within a certain distance from the distribution station, which according to them, I am 12000 feet away or just shy of 2 miles. I haven't had the opportunity to talk with the neighbor face to face, I got her phone # from our landlords parents who live next door in the house east of us. I am hoping to get back in touch with her and see if she will let me come over and see just what she has. Worst case scenario is having to stay on this Hot Spot, like I say it's ok and fairly fast, but I just hate to be paying 60+ a month for internet. Thanks again for all your help
  12. Thanks Forrest, I'll see if I can get someone out here
  13. Excuse my ignorance Annie, I am thinking that the Patriots are an organization down under. Are the like the Patriot Guard here in the states?
  14. Nope, I can't get DSL either, even though the neighbor about 1/4 mile down the road says she has AT&T DSL. I had it good at the old place, cable internet and TV for $59 a month. It's going to cost me more than that for this hotspot I just looked into the Clear you talked about....not available where I'm at, just can't win for loosing
  15. Thanks for the suggestions folks, I am going to take a look at the Clear and internet america. I had enough with Verizon so they definitely wont get my money. The Hotspot works well enough, but it seems to use up lots of GB's on nothing. The plan has 5GB per month and as I type this I have 4.59 left, I have only had it 24 hours. I have 30 days to say yea or nay and I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling with it right now at the rate it's being used. It's good to be back on with all you lunatics, kind of funny you have to go back to the nut house to feel at home
  16. Some of you know that the reason I haven't been on the site is that we haven't had internet at the new house. I ended up getting an AT&T Hotspot wifi transmitter that uses cell towers and 4G to get hooked up. It works but I'm not crazy about having to spend $60+ a month for internet. I have this thing for 30 days to try it, and if I want I can return it and get out of the contract (which I wont go into that rant) I need other options from y'all, I wont waste my money on Huges Net and besides what we have right now, that is the only other option. I'm too far from a distribution center to be able to get DSL, and dialup will just irritate me and I have enough irritants in my life right now. I am open for any ideas or suggestions you have
  17. Good on ya Hazen! I remember our trek down to Texas and what a circus that was. I'm glad that y'all were able to make it out of Michigan
  18. Bobo, I swapped Zipcodes front brakes to R1's on his RSTD and it was a noticeable difference with the stock master cylinder. I haven't got into the math as Lynn has, but it's a good upgrade with just the R1. I have also done the same thing and delinked the front brakes on my '86 I have now and am using the stock M/C and it too is a noticeable difference...
  19. I just got a AT&T hot spot today matter of fact, so as long as we have a signal at the house we'll be back on the internet.....love that pic though
  20. .....But it sure does feel like it! Just a quick note to let y'all know were still alive and kicking. This new house is gonna kill me Been living init since the last week of March and still have way too much to do, still not a complete kitchen If nayone needs to get ahold of either Lonna or myself use our phones to do it. We still dont have internet at the house (thats a whole nother fiasco) and I wont be able to get on the site for days at a time. Hope all is well with everyone and eventually we'll get a life back, be safe and we'll ttyl
  21. I know I haven't been on much lately, but I am glad that the end result is a good one. Looking forward to seeing y'all again soon, and I hope the aches and pains are subsiding.
  22. Congrats Father Time....Don has made a good choice
