Hey Houston....anyone ready for a Maintenance Day ?
Squidley replied to Squidley's topic in Watering Hole
That would be EPIC if you came! BTW here is the new thread http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=73581 -
Ok Folks, I started a post to see if there was interest in a Houston Maintenance Day, folks are sounding like they want one. So here it is, Saturday October 27th will be the main work day, but anyone wanting to come over Friday afternoon and spend a couple of nights are more than welcome. We have 2 1/2 acres and plenty of space for pop up trailers and tents. I have all the tools we'll need to do just about anything you want to try and accomplish. I will ask that you bring whatever fluids you want to change with you. I do have a vacuum bleeder, a Carb and Color Tune, and I'll borrow the tire machine from Doodle and we can do some tires if folks want to. If you can give a yea or nay up top it will give me an idea of how much grub we need to think about. If you have any questions PM me or give me a call, my cell is in my profile. Looking forward to seeing all the brethren again

Ok Then.... Lets call it Saturday October 27th, I'll be up early, so those coming can show as early as they want. There is plenty of space to bring a camper or tent if folks want to make a weekend out of it. I'll have some wood to burn and those that want to spend a couple of nights can sit around a bon fire and chew the fat. Just remember to bring any fluids you want to change out, I can also borrow the tire changer from Kregs house and we could do some tires if someone is so inclined. I have all the tools we'll need to do just about any job as well as an air compressor so we'll be covered on tools. I'll start another thread and folks can sign up so we'll know how many to expect and get some food for. Looking forward to seeing the crew again -
It's been a while since the Houston brethren got together, and it's long over due. What say ye to having a fall MD at our place in Cleveland? Lots of room here, the weather will be breaking in a couple of weeks. So would their be any interest in fixing on some bikes and lots of BSing, and a BBQ? Post up your thoughts and we'll see if we want to set a date or not

John, If you want to talk with someone about pulling a single wheel trailer, talk with Dennis Traynor Midrsv on the site here. I know he had a unigo that he pulled behind his RSV and would be a great resource for questions......and loose that tire thats on there

Not that we went anywhere ....but were back home. Didn't talk about the trip openly as I know folks would be wanting to see us. Went north to marry my Dad off, and it was a great wedding. Thank you to all the folks that we were able to see for their hospitality. It was one hell of a trip, 3700 miles in total. Now back to work tomorrow so I can pay for it all

The 130 will help you out on slow speed handling. I have run one, and some will argue the point that I am about to make. I felt that on the slab at speed I got blown around more than with a 150 on the front. It wasn't terrible, but I noticed it. Many have run the 130 and liked the results, worst case is you dont like it and your only out a few hundred dollars.

I plan on making one eventually, if that could be picked up for that price it would be a decent deal. Cabreco....you are so bad!

Reguardless if it's true or not, the message that the pic represents is a very powerful and sobering one.... -

When you install progessives not all the original stuff goes back in. Also the level of fork oil is crutial, I have always had good luck with cutting the pvc spacers that go on top at 3/4" and when you fill the tubes with oil (I use 10wt) they need to be right at 5" from the top of the tube with the tubes collapsed and the springs out. If you could get some pics of how everything came back out that would help a lot....we'll get you squared away

What a terrible shame to hear, I too didn't know Mark well, but chatted with him from time to time here on the site. May his family find the peace they need to carry on without him. God bless you Mark, we will miss you here and look forward to riding with you one day.
