  1. Jim, I have a left side saddle bag lid, it's purple off a '99. If your interested PM me and we'll chat.
  2. Which stator are you going to buy Pat?
  3. How far apart do you have it?
  4. If you have a bicycle tire pump, thats what I would use. The 12 volt may work, but I would hate to chance blowing the seal in the shock.
  5. Depends upon what kind of ride you want. At 230 lbs a softer ride would be 25 to 30 lbs in the rear shock. 30 to 45 lbs more firm and the max on the rear pressure is 55lbs. Try some different pressures, make sure if you dont have a hand pump, like a progressive, that you get one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PROGRESSIVE-MOTORCYCLE-BIKE-HAND-AIR-SHOCK-PUMP-FOR-HARLEY-METRIC-UNIV-070660-/140931352516?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20d029c7c4&vxp=mtr Dont use your air compressor to inflate the shock, you could blow the seal out of it.
  6. Morgan Carbtune, have had one for better than 7 years and have synced hundreds of bikes with it
  7. Larry is an outstanding guy, I have been friends with him for going on 10 years. He has always gone the extra mile and has helped countless members here on the site. Glad he could hook you up
  8. Thank you Carl, I personally appreciate your thoughts, I'll need all the help I can get delivering the euolgy....God Bless you my friend
  9. Great Pics, glad to see y'all are having a good time
  10. I'll bet Jack ticked him off
  11. Some may get their knickers in a twist over what I am about to say, but I hate sharing the road with a bicycle. They are an endangerment as bikes aren't solid enough to handle certain road conditions. They can't keep up with traffic, so you have to slow down until you can pass them. They dont have to have any of the licenses or plating or insurance that we do driving cars or motorcycles. I know folks like to ride bikes, there are a crap load down here in Texas. If a bicycle wants to share the road with me, then share the tax burden of the upkeep of the road.....thats how I feel about it
  12. This is mine before I widened it to accommodate trikes, been the same treated 2X8 planks for going on 8 years now. Trailer is solid as a rock, carriage bolts through the frame and bolted tight, I have hauled dozens of bikes on it and it has atleast 30K miles on it. 11000lb D rings to lash the bike down, bolted right through the frame as well...Last 4 pics are after I extended the width, Gunboats '99 and DragonRiders '93 trikes
  13. Ride Herb.....A LOT!!!
  14. Yes it will make a mess with 7 lbs of air in it, before you drain the fork oil make sure all the air is released. Your last statement should tell you what you probably should do. If it's a new to you bike, and you dont know the exact maintenance on the bike, then I would put fresh fork oil in it. This way you have a base of when it was done and you dont have to be concerned when you really want to "depend" on it down the road.....
  15. I suppose I'm like some of the others here... My handshake is my word, and my name, both my Grandfathers told me that. Give a firm handshake and look them in the eye. Dont disgrace your family name. "Stick to your guns" my stepfather (a Marine) told me this and I have followed through with it since I was a young man. If you believe your right dont let anyone talk you into changing your mind. Be honest, and try your best not to impose on others. Give back more than you take. I suppose if I can help 1 person to be better than they perceive themself to be, then thats what I would want to be remembered for. I know there is a LOT of things that I definitely dont need to be remembered for
  16. Y'all just slobbered a bibful there, I do miss the rides we are able to take all the members on in that area
  17. I wish I had his time problem, an idle mind can be a dangerous thing
  18. Yes, thats is correct
  19. Thanks for your efforts Mike, maybe at some point I'll try to make some again....but thats not in the foreseeable future.
  20. If you have some time to have the bike apart, send your rearend stateside and do the swap out http://rmsportmax.com/gateway.html As far as I know, it is a direct swap. I dont know how mechanically inclined you are, but the lash has to be set on the gears if you try to change the ring and pinion yourself. You can also use the rearend out of an FJR, it has the same gear ratio as the Vmax ones.
  21. SWEET!!!
  22. Ok Folks, The poll closed and it appears that we have roughly a dozen of us from the site going. hal will be our chef as Cathy (Don's Girlfriend) asked if he would smoke some brisket and such, which he agreed to do. If anyone that was thinking about coming could get with Lonna (Sweetnothing) and was going bring something, please let her know. Thanks again for all the support...
  23. Thats a great ride up into Port Huron and further North. Lonna and I would always head along the river and up to PH for supper in the evenings. There's a small Ice Cream parlor (if they are still in business) in the 1st portion of St. Clairs strip mall, always used to be a stop on my M&E's. Have a great time and take some pics if you can.
  24. Paul, I would love for you to come over, but I do know how tight it is for you. If you do make it we have a place for you to crash regardless. Let me know if I can help you with anything.
  25. Happy Birthday Mate!!!
