just wondering
Squidley replied to bossman's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
JT right on the money, Fill it up and put some sort of gas stabalizer in it. It will get condensation in it if it's not completely dry and open to atmosphere. I use either Stabil or Seafoam, and when you get her back out for the 1st spring run. Run the hell out of her, get on the interstate and run through a tank and fill it back up -
If it was bike just for me to ride then I would go with the 1200 as it's a bit more muscle engine. If 2 up and touring, it would be the 1300 as the bags are lots bigger

I like that kit way better than the Voyager kit, it blends a bit more with the bike. That is a very nice setup
-
They definitely are different looking, let us know what you think about once you get a few miles on her
-
I sure wouldn't have wanted to be downwind of you after that breakfast
-
Mark, We'll just help make it happen, nothing to be worried about and I like the idea of the stability that it will give you. We'll just have to keep our eyes open and see what we can come up with so you 2 can join into more of the rides
-
I take it you get thirsty on the road :rotf:

I will recommend ones not to get, some may not agree with me but I didn't care for them http://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=metric&ci=2921 I had these on the '99 and for 1 thing the left side grip broke in 2 between the rubber grips and they always left black residue on my hands when I rode without gloves. I know some love em but they aren't for me

I see some of the ususal suspects, sure wish I could have put 240 miles on today M&E are always fun and you southern folks do know how to have a good time. I do believe I think I saw Gray Ghost in there some where as well as Eck and 86er and of course Blackjack....keep them pics coming

I know you were Mini...but I have to stir the pot a bit so you dont think I'm totally off here
-
Russ, As much as I appreciate your pure heart (No really I do) I have to stay on my toes now more than ever. I also appreciate you search efforts on ebay as I too saw that '99 fix-r-upper.....but there will be no more '99 parked in my garage that are mine. (Had to clarify that so Brad T and Hal didn't think I wouldn't let them park their '99's in there)

Bob, NO, you'll still want to balance the tire. What your doing when you balance a tire is your balancing it to the rim. There is almost always a heavy spot on a tire from it's construction and your just making that even on the rim, which is a constant. Balance the tire and install the Ride On if you wish. I used it in my last set of Avons and it isn't a mess to clean like fix a flat. It actually does what it claims as i ran a screw through my rear tire before I was going to change it out and it held the same air for 3 week.
