  1. Carl, I do miss your story telling, had me laughing the whole time Your a good fit here and I'm sure glad that you stick around. You actually looked like a mechanic sort with your coveralls on....whoda thunkd it
  2. Boomer, There have been some color variations between the USA and Canada. As long as it looks like a good paint job with no overspray your probably safe Pick a bike and come back on with whatever questions pertain to your new bike
  3. Hate to say it but your going to have to go out and try helmets on. That is the only sure fire way to get something that fits you right and is comfortable. I have used several different mfgrs, the latest being Gmax which we had on during our accident. I have had several differnt ones Shoei, Nolan, Bell. I am pretty happy with the Gmax, but it may not fit you. 1 thing to remember with helmets is that get something approved Snell or DOT. Once a helmet has been in an accident, throw it away, it's a 1 time deal.
  4. Fred, This is what I had on my '99, it will work on the 1st gens too They are also a silverstar vendor to the site http://www.hoonhardware.com/
  5. Wayne, I do have J&M on our 1/2 helmets, and the mic is a bit longer to accomodate that. My setup was expensive as I had to purchase the pieces individually. It sounds great coming across and I use the bikes speakers as I dont have headsets in the 1/2 helmets. If your coming to the M&E on Saturday I can show you what I have and you can make a decision
  6. Your a better man than me, The wife and I have done some 900 mile days and I wont do it back to back. You got some brass cahoneys there bud

  15. Eck, I believe that I have taken that off my bike, I dont know if I still have it. But if I do come across it...it is yours
  16. Thank you Dave, I didn't know if I had any pics of the front of the bike. I had just got it done before left on the trip, thanks again for putting that up Monsta....Thats what it looked like Victor, I checked earlier today on the fitment of the light bracket on an RSTD for another member and it doesn't appear that they are interchangeable. The front bag is connected to the light bar and I dont know if there is another mounting point for you to attach them. The air cleaner covers should fit, but let me double check to be sure.
  17. Goose, They belong to the insurance Company as I'm not going to keep the bike. I'm taking all the extras off that they will try to beat me up on. I dont want anything to do with it after we come to an agreement....sorry bud.

  24. Ron and Linda, As much as we will miss you only being 1000 miles from us, we know that it is a right move for you. Have a great time and enjoy yourselves, we'll catch up with you soon and get to one of the Venture West rallys out there when you can
  25. Eddie, It's not going to hurt anything, I have drilled out many H/D mufflers and didn't have to change a thing on the carbs. The stock ones can be drilled also and sound reasonable too
