He stops in but I know his job keeps him busy, he'll pop in and say hello soon
  2. Thanks Alan, do appreciate your thinking of me bud Now to just find the rear rim and we'll be golden
  3. Thanks Gary, PM is on the way
  4. Sorry to hear this Dic, you and Carol are in our thoughts. If you need anything just holler, were only a few hours away
  5. Good point, but unfortunately, I dont have a bike to work on
  6. Actually, If I'm not mistaken, I believe he owns a casino in Vegas
  7. You always seem to have a good vibe on the happening's of the site Don. And as usual put it into a nicely wrapped note. I can't agree more as like you, many folks wouldn't be happy with my views either, but I keep my mouth shut (Yeah I know, Hard to belive) We just have to respect that other folks have a right to think like they do, and they have to respect that of me. The funny thing is, people make decisions on topics and have no idea where their thoughts are based. Society will NEVER have all the information on any subject. The media and the governments will never give all the Truthful info. So you can't make an intelligent decision because you will NEVER have all the facts. This is a motorcycle forum, and I like it that way, if you want news....watch TV
  8. Hey All, I'm starting to get down to the short strokes on the insurance settlement with the bike. I need 2 items for the bike to ship it when the offer is made and the deal is done. I'm sending off the wheel and tire for examination, so if anyone has a spare rim from a trike project that I could buy, that would be a godsend. The other is the black plastic cover that goes over the ignition on the front of the tank. If you have an old crappy one that you replaced or whatnot that would be fine, it's just going to scrap. I sold the leather wrapped one to one of our members and I like to be honest when I give the bike to the insurance co. If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it, and these items dont need to be in great shape...Thanks
  9. Kreg, Lonna and I are looking at the same camera that you purchased. It has the twist and flip LED screen right? We have it narrowed down to 2 of them and thats the one that Lonna likes. I personally like a similar Kodak as thats what we have had until I dropped the darn thing and now it wont charge I think that you will like it once you get used to it. It has a great Optical zoom and I have read some very good reviews of it
  10. I had one hell of a shock when I ordered Canadian Bacon over there for the 1st time. God a piece or round meat about the size of sliced salami I know better now
  11. Thanks for the effort Rick, sorry to hear of your friend. I know Don has your valve on his '99 and seems to like it. I do hope that you get everything you want out of this
  12. Sorry to hear about your fathers passing Dennis. Sounds like he was able to enjoy his golden years, and thats always good to hear. You folks will be in our thoughts, let us know if we can do anything for you
  13. Steve, Glad to hear that it's on a roll, Dano gets all the credit. I'm glad that this is looking like a happy ending...roll on Buddy
  14. Thanks Paul, I'll put a sticky up on this so the 1st genners get to see it, I know there are many that are looking forward to getting these
  15. It's a little Christmas present Very glad to hear that you were able to have that supper, I'm sure it meant more than anything. I used to be spoiled with Moms home made bread and her home made noodles. She had a big 3'X5' steel table, you know the ones covered with white enamel I believe. and she used to roll out the dough and cut noodles out of them, nice and thick. Then make whatever soup was desired Chicken noodle was my favorite....that was some feel good fodd for me
  16. Like Mike mentioned, soapy water in a spray bottle always works for me
  17. dharnie, I didn't buy the bike from the insurance company, so I wont sell any of the stock items. Besides the fact that there isn't any piece of the plastic that isn't broke...sorry Pilot....dont have a trunk bib either
  18. Robert, I finally got back to sending your PM, thank you for the interest. Thanks too Wikd and eagleeye, do appreciate the seal of approval and glad they worked out. Just so all the G2 folks know, I am currently out of the brackets. But I went back to work yesterday and will get busy on making more up. Give me about a week and I believe that I'll have sets ready to ship. Thanks for all your paitence, it was a little tough after bouncing from the crash to go back to work. Hell I fell asleep at 7pm and didn't get up till 3:30 this morning
  19. Seems like he has 2 loves
  20. I know folks have used 2X4's and hockey pucks, but Carbon One's lift adapter is the best thing going. His quality is impeccable and the adapter works perfectly...I have one myself and I wouldn't jack my G2 up without one http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/69/cat/7
  21. There are many of us here on the site that run nothing but Avons. Like was mentioned, all you have to do is try them out and you'll be hooked. Tom gives VERY good advise in that they should be kept at the max pressure. Adjust your suspension and not the air pressure in the tires, you'll get better wear at the upper most pressure
  22. Nice pics....and in front of the new house too
  23. I just want to be sure that members here know whats a good deal and whats not. Like I say, I'm not trying to but some folks aren't as up on things as others and I like to see us have a level playing field As always, if you have any question about anything for the bike or whatnot, just ask. Most of the time you'll get half a dozen folks post links to the same item or similar at a good price. Just a shameless plug here, we do have an area with preferred vendors and it's always good to check them out as most give us a discount
  24. Start it up and drive! That Venture isn't even broke in with those miles and I have taken several Ventures on many roadtrips well over 2k miles. I would just say to make sure the tires are new and all your fluids have been changed out. Make sure all the basic maintenance is done and the bike will run forever. If you have any technical questions make sure to look in the tech library or come on and ask questions in the 1st gen area. You wont be sorry and you will enjoy the trip
  25. Now that is one word I have never heard anybody say about Gene. How does a person of his stature Sneak????
