Good thinking, get Momma hooked on safety chrome and it will be easier to put some on yours What year is her Suzuki? looks to be in good shape

We look forward to coming back down to Texas Tom and definitely appreciate the hospitality offer...the door is always open up here in Michigan too

Buddy As long as you and Momma are happy thats all that matters. That is a beautiful bike and you know better, we dont care what you ride as long as you stay here with us. If not we'll hunt you down like a dog and drag you back kicking and screaming! Enjoy your new toy

I know that the silence had been driving Randy insane!!! So I'll let him off the hook...Randy speaks of me, but I wont go as far as saying I have seen the light Many of you know of our accident on January 1st in Baton Rouge, the bike being totalled and my poor wife's collarbone being totalled Well, we settled with the insurance co. and I recieved the payoff. I paid my credit card off, payed some odd bills and spend some money on the pics below. Yes it is a 1st gen, an '86 Urishi Black one that was bought off Mike Anderson who is one of our members here. He needed to get rid of the bike and I was able to help him out with that. Randy was good enough to go check it out for me and give me his opinion. He also went with his trailer and picked it up for me and kept it at his house. Last weekend we decided to meet up in Portsmouth Ohio and I trailered it back here to Michigan. Now I know that some G2 folks here are yelling at the screen say what are you doing! Much the same as the 1st genners did when I went to my 1st '99. This was bought so that I have something to ride this year, I'm not going to say that I have gone back to the 1st gen. I'm being honest when I say that the G2 is the most comfortable bike for Lonna and I. I just dont want to spend 12K to purchase another one right now...so this '86 is the 2nd best choice for us. I stand here now ready for the inspiration posts to come around....bring it on:rasberry:

Yeah...That old Snarly Bill is a good fella, he's a pretty good wrench too. Glad you all got to get some quality time in on the bikes....and you went for a ride too, I'm so jealous

It definitely was a good time, Lonna and I had a blast...we always do. Lumberjack and Joe Mac rode in and if I would have had a bike...I might have too. Always good seeing all our friends and new ones to boot. We'll have to do this more often up north, I dont mind heading up for a M&E Thanks for setting it up Dray, you did real good for the 1st one in Bay City, looking forward for #2 hopefully on the bikes:banana:

I know that Mother had an Iway 350 and seemed to like it. But a few weeks later he had a different one so something must have happened I thought about buying one, but after reading customer reviews and the fact that Mother got rid of his, I dont think I would buy one. Brad T has a Zumo 450 and seems to like it fine, I haven't heard many bad experiences with the Zumo's

Cooler Rack for my trailer - Recommendations
Squidley replied to petekadish's topic in Watering Hole
Pete, I had one that I made for my trailer that I made out of 18 gauge stainless, worked like a charm. That one there your looking at looks like it could be modified to do what you want it to....go for it -
Come on Steve...you liked that G2

No sweat Curt, like I mentioned, Pass it on and I know you will. Your enthusiasm on the site is good enough payment for me

I have an uncle that is very into guitars, he would go insane to be in that bus I'm sure you and your daughter were probably the same way
-
They are a great addition to any bike, I had one on my '86 and loved it, scared the hell out of 2 kids when they were giving me the honk the horn pull
-
Just FWIW, I have spun 1st gens past 8K without valves floating, the engine pulls very strong even at that high RPM. Like Bill said heavier springs is what enables the Max to spin up like that, probably a stouter conn rod also. You can bet thats why Yamaha put the rev limiter on the G2 was for the warranty.

Fuse Issue---Lower Faring
Squidley replied to Everette's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Everette, Your bike is an '03 this being the last year of your warranty, I would suggest you take it to a dealer and let them troubleshoot it first. I personally can't help you out with the electrical gremlins, not really my strong suit. You can drill out that piece between the fairing and replace it. But I would try to pull it out by pulling the screw thats in it out, if I'm not mistaken it is a spread bolt that opens the plastic casing up inside. You can pull off the lowers by removing the lowers off by removing the 4 allen head bolts on the front. I'm fairly confident thats all that holds them on. -
Looks good there Viper...I know that I'm itching to get some wind in my face
-
Nice work Randy You could polish that stainless up like chrome if you so chose to. That also would be a good idea in aluminum as it dissapates heat quickly. You might be onto something there
-
Think you and I could fit in that rig Lewis

Thats cold man....real cold!
