You boys and all that were involved in organizing this are the ones to be thanked. I agree with folks showing up, but you gave us so much to be able to show up to that it's not even funny. I know exactly what is involved with hosting one of these, the headaches and last minute preps. Hats off to all of the planning committee and their spouses, this was surely a rally to remember and it's all because you got involved and grabbed the bull by the horns. These things dont happen unless people step up to the plate and sacrifise a lot to make it happen. Thank you all again for the awsome time!

Looks good, it's different and thats a good thing. I know that I painted the forks on my '86 black and it really looks good. Keep it up and cant wait to see the next time you get bored

Great to see that you folks made it in 1 piece. This is why this place is the best on the web period! Glad that all went well and the weather cooperated with you...Great job folks, were all real proud of all of you

Mark, I have to say that the pics don't do it justice, it's a beautiful color that actually looks somewhat like a Gray/Blue slate. When it's in the sun at just the right angle it looks to me that it has a hazy purple tint to it, I REALLY like the color! If you can get the chance to see one close up at a dealer, take the ride Thanks too Carl and Diane, Lonna loves it as I do too, it fits just like an old shoe. Now all I have to do is start the leather and chroming

I have had my bike a week now and have broken the 1st rule, hope y'all forgive me....Here is the new ride, all polished up no less

Well I feel better now that I know the how and why. I have changed back to the mild manner Brad Newby and left my Super Moderation behind. Just a plain ole moderator with my new bike in the signature......Me no like being all that special. Thanks for your comments though, although I could have gone without seeing the image of me in spandex That shocked me and I'm pretty partial to me

Pilot, Those are the clamps that I have been installing for years on the RSV conversion to the H/D pipes. The notch is in there to go over the pipe and the sholder is for going over the header pipe on the bike. I have never had any serious issues with installing them and I would say that I have installed at least half a dozen on various RSV's. Now granted when you install H/D mufflers on the RSV everything has to be clean and corrosion free. I usually take emory cloth and clean the header up and the antiseize idea is also a good one.

We can accomodate that Gary, glad to hear that you folks were able to spend some more time together after the rally. I sure wish that we would have had a few more days to stay and visit.

Hey Folks, It seems that I am the butt (yeah go ahead and laugh) of an unusual prank. I went to change my info in my user CP to reflect my new bike in it and lo and behold, a gremlin popped up. It seems that when I went to do the change, I became a Super Moderator. Now I dont know how to react to this, I have no special powers, nor a whole lot of smarts. But I will say that being given this prestediguous title I will work very hard to be what I have been labeled. Please trust that I will and forever shall be just a humble plain old moderator....but if you feel you must pay me for this PM me and I'll send you my paypal info

....that was already off it when I sold it to you

Dont bank on that Gerry, I know that I'm not and I'm further behind you in collecting it. Sad state of affairs in this country these days, I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel anymore

Congrats on the new arrival! I know that my grandsons were a lot of fun when they were little, I liked them when they were 1st born. Enjoy the heck out of him and take as much time as you can with 'em....time goes by so fast.

bottoming forks
Squidley replied to Holly's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I agree with Lutz 100%, change out the fork oil and if you can afford to do it replace the front spring with the progressives, I have done several bikes like that and it's amazing the performance you'll gain. -
Output shaft problems??
Squidley replied to tooldood's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I would 1st check the output shaft on the motor as some of them have had issues of the shaft breaking off at the u-joint. Heres a thread on it from CdnLouie http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14029 -
2nd gen tech questions. Help!
Squidley replied to Busta's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Don pretty much nailed it all on your questions, I'll second the splitter AUX cable for running MP3 players or GPS systems as it will come through the sterio. I find that 2 up with my wife and I works well at just about 40 psi, if were packed up heavy in the bags I'll go to about 45 psi and if were pulling atrailer loaded I'll go 50 psi or above. Experiment with what works best for your sizes, together the wife and I are about 410 lbs me being closer to 300 lbs. I run my tires at just about max pressure, and be sure if you are leaving on a trip and are loaded up to run the tire at max pressure so you'll have the full load capability of it. Just remember to keep asking questions if you have them. There are no dumb questions here
