The only reason I have H/D lights on my bike is because the French rings wont fit on anything else. I like that look and thats why I have H/D lights on my bike and not factory Yamaha.

Lurker coming out into the open, tech question............
Squidley replied to a topic in General Tech Talk
It can be a bear to get it all full of fluid again, I have done those many times. Make sure that your bleeding from the bleeder up by the steering head too as the brakes are linked. Persistance is the key to doing it, I also use the Valvoline Synthetic blend for DOT 3 & 4 -
Glenn, The lights themselves will work on the Yamaha bar, I have a set with H/D turn signals and lights. You would have to go with the Yamaha bar thougth unless your going to do some custom fabricating.

There might still be hope for him Bill Never say never Dan, people thought that I wouldn't but I did

You seriously scored on that one, great deal

Loaded question there Froggie, to me in great shape no more than $2K. I think what it is would be the gas prices and now everyone is trying to buy a bike to save fuel costs. So they are driving the market value up. I believe that once many of these folks buy one and realise they are in over their heads the price will come back down.....but I'm just a dumb welder

Mick, I haven't used one but I have talked with quite a few folks that have and I haven't heard anything terrible about them. They are custom fitted to you and even though they look a bit different, they seem to keep their owners happy

Glad to hear your trip was a good one. George is a great guy, we have spent time with him up there on a couple occasions. I was going to try and get ahold of you and ride with you folks abit while you were here but we decided to head down to Indy for Bummer's M&E. We'll catch up with you folks soon enough...welcome back home

Mike, You dont have to pull the tank, take off the 2 allen head bolts that hold the plastic cover off over the gascap and then pull the seat off ant there are 2 phillips screw that hold it on the bottom. Pull the old one off and remove any of the 2 way sticky tape and install the new on reverse of all that....no sweat, easy job

Folks I just want to take this time to praise those who deserve it. I recently (read last Monday) decided to buy a backrest for my '08. I looked at both the Utopia and the Diamond R, I went with the Diamond R and I am so happy that I did. I know you folks hear of us praising certain vendors that offer us great products or service. Let me tell you that Diamond R does both. I ordered online and then later that morning talked with Patty on the phone. She was very pleasant to chat with and had told me that she had already packaged up my backrest and was going to ship it the same day I ordered it! I recieved it from Texas to Michigan by Thursday 3 days...it don't get much better than that folks. Lonna and I went to Bummers M&E south of Indy this weekend and I can tell you that my back was a much happier part of me. If you are looking for a backrest, please check out what Allan & Patty have to offer. Their products are top quality and the customer service is stellar....I highly recommend them to all of our members

Something tells me it was more than that....but I believe your on the right track

This is the second post that you have bumped your head on....do we need to send a doctor to you
-
I had a similar setup I made on an '86 1 ton Dodge P/U I had, had a guy hit me with a beemer and it totalled the front of his car out.....duh I also do the same thing on the bike coming to a sign or light, I'm always looking in my mirrors and the bike is always in gear ready to go if I need to. Funny the things we learn from many years of riding, and how many others do the same thing.

Thanks everyone, I have just turned over 2500 miles on her now after our M&E visit to Indiana. I sure would like to travel to every state so that I could let you all see the color....and we could eat too
-
Can we try to change the color to match the Venture Ranger??

Did you bump your head again Jeff ??

Glad you weren't on the bike Bob....I wont even start a tirate, but I'm glad that your telling the story

I have always engine braked for slowing, probably from my dirtbike days to come out of the hole in a powerband for holeshots. It's just carried over to my streetbikes as I also reley on my rear brakes a lot, this also from riding dirtbikes.

New V-Max 1700cc
Squidley replied to RSTDRIDER's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Lots of speculation on the hopefully redesigned RSV. I know a majority of the 1st genner owners want it to be a redesign of the 1st gen platform. I have had both platforms and even though I have just bought an '08 I would be in for a cruiser style 1700 V4. One of the biggest reasons I got rid of my 1st gen was the foot position of it. After buying the latest '86 of mine, I realised that I can't go back to the feet under foot position. If it goes back to a 1st gen styling, it wont be for me. If you guys want a sport type touring go with the FJR or ST 1300....besides Yamaha seems to never listen to us anyhow so why should they start now -
Good work you two, Russell, you actually look like you knew what you were doing there...whodathunktit That should be a great cooker and I know the pig will be good Eck.....That is a pretty trick looking helmet, made by Jackson
