How to install new battery cables?
Squidley replied to bobcat's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
It is a lot of work, but I have tried to just snake them through, 1 made it, the other didn't and I still had to tear it apart. I also recommended that when you do this that if you haven't done the spark plug wires on the bike that this is the time You can try it without all the removal, but just be prepared if it doesn't work out. Make sure that ALL the contact points where you are connecting the cables to are perfectly clean. Ventures are very fussy with electrical, and I have seen lots of problems from just a little corrosion on the right connections. -
Sometimes you just have to let folks step on their own toes. I do that sometimes here, if I know what the problem is and tell them. Folks will try everything else, I let them. Guaranteed when they do fix it, they wont forget it and thats why this forum has the fix for just about everything. We have all broke something or such and learned the lesson the hard way

yamaha venture 1300 1993year
Squidley replied to Raiki's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Welcome Raiki, The majority of us believe that the Venture is better than the Wing. The V4 is the biggest perk on the bike, it's a bullet proof engine and makes good horsepower from 3000 rpms up to about 8000 rpms. By '93 all of the problems were pretty much worked out. As long as the bike has been maintained properly, you really wont have many issues. These bikes will go 100000 miles without a problem and I know of some 200000 mile bikes that are still rolling strong. The 1st gen tech section of the forum will give you more information than you know what to do with. As always feel free to come on and ask questions. Glad to have you with us and enjoy the site -
Progressive springs on ebay
Squidley replied to ChurchBuilder's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Just to caution folks here on this auction. They are labeled wrong there is no CBX KZ1300 Venture, I know it says they fit different models and makes but dont know that I would trust that. The shipping is $18.50 the start price is $25 thats $43 just to start. MAW sells them for $55 and about $10 shipping and if they aren't right you can send them back. I'm not trying to rain on this thread, it's appreciated that you want to share this, but I'm all about buyer beware on ebay -
Ken, I would suggest that you get the hitch coupling 1st and take your measurements and then find a tube that will fit it snugly. Here is a site that might help you http://www.gadgetjq.com/trailer.htm

Good to hear it was a memoriable time Gene. I know when I was in the service one of my duty weekends was on a 4th of July. My duty was to ride in a 4th of July parade in Jacksonville Florida, in the Rumble seat of an old Ford. It was one of the greatest memories I have of my time in. I was able to ride in a bus with a number of Vietnam vets that were so very cool to us despite what they went through when they returned home. You were lucky enough to spend time with the greatest generation this world has seen or probably ever will see again.

It is good to get out with some of the gang isn't it Good to hear that you folks had a nice ride. I haven't been able to get out for better than a week with a bad back...that sucks
-
Very nice to see Cindy, I'm glad that the silver lining is starting to show itself for you folks. The phone is still on should you need it, only good thoughts for the family
-
I couldn't agree with you more Scott, it will be interesting to see what they come up with. I would think they better be very fast about it as I'm sure many folks that waited to see what the RSV was going to be for '09 are disappointed and will go looking elsewhere, this could be the bike
-
Not crazy about the front fairing, but they definitely have lots more amenities than the RSV. I'm not a huge Vtwin fan but if Yamaha doesn't have a new platformed RSV by next year, I can see many going to this or the Ultra.
-
Sorry Brother, I will give NOBODY that kind of control of me
-
I agree Gerry, and thats not necessarily a bad thing, we are so close to this country going under it isn't even funny. I love my bike, but hated paying that much money for it
-
My new one was 9.99 % I plan on opening up an account at a local Credit union and refinancing it at 7%. The draw you in deal that dealerships offer is for Bill Gates, I have VERY good credit and I couldn't get the LOW rate they offered. So I'll just let someone thats interested in working with me make some money.

We have had a pretty good week here with the donations, the total thus far is.... $2470.00 Just remember that the largest donation will get to come on the site and tell everyone what our Tattoos will be. Right now Bummer has donated the most money towards this, so if we meet the goal he will be able to post what were getting. It's looking like it will be right down to the wire with it But I know that we can make it, every little bit helps and as always Thank you to all the folks that have donated
-
I have recieved both of your donations, Thank you very much On a very good note, we had a big surge in the past couple of days an have added over $500 to the total, which now stands at $2420.26 We are less than $600 away from the goal and I am very happy to hear that. Keep 'em coming and I will give updates as they come...Thank you to all that have donated so generously

I think this will be a last minute commitment for many Lew. It is what it is, dont sweat it, those that are planning on it will be there....it's all about the donation and not the number that give it. Your doing a great job my friend and we owe you a great appreciation for grabbing the bull by the horns
