  1. I know the feeling Bob, glad it turned out well....why dontcha come on over to Detroit sometime, then you can REALLY have some fun
  2. We love you kiddo and will miss seeing you, but you need to take care of business and so will we. As always, it is so good to see the green dot lit up on Mean Dogs name, your in our thoughts.
  3. That was my understanding too, but it's only with the 1200cc setups as they still used the separate springs. The 1300cc Ventures have the 1 wavy spring. BTW I have talked several times with John Gayne at PCW, the spring that he sells has a harder Rockwell rating so it doesn't fatigue as fast as the stock ones do. I have installed at least 6 of the PCW clutch kits in various bikes and they work wonderful.
  4. On the front cover I have taken the radiator loose and moved it forward. It makes it so much easier and less PIA. Another tip that I'll give is use RTV in the channel and push the gasket into it and let it set over night. This way when your tring to move it around it wont fall all over the place.
  5. Guilty! 30 Days in the hole for you
  6. Matt, Here is what I believe you'll be wanting http://www.chopperscycle.com/page/VTS/PROD/42-264/24032 If you have any other questions shoot me a PM
  7. I'm really glad the you are telling us this yourself, take care of yourself and I wish you both the fastest healing. If there is anything I can help you with just ask
  8. Mike, Did we replace the fronts or just the rear pads when you were here? I would suggest that you get a set of the EBC HH pads, that is what I use. My '08 is quealing right now and there is only 6500 miles on them. The only other option is take them off and chamfer the edges of the pads, this sometimes will help with the squealing.
  9. Damn Lou! You know I sacrifised on the 2nd day of this year so nobody else had to. Do you know why it let go?
  10. Have fun my friend and turn everything off, we'll handle it here. Do you hear that JT!
  11. Is it possible that you can repack the cans with denser baffling material to quiet it down BTW...nice looking bike
  12. Unfortunately Paypal isn't free and takes a percentage of the funds sent...thats why the strange total...I'll throw in my pocket change and even it off when we get there
  13. OK....Here it is. We ended up raising.... $3260.67 Thank you to all that donated and we are looking forward to seeing a bunch of you folks in Memphis on the 18th
  14. The person you should contact is Pegscraper, I dont know if the heads are the same dimentions as the RSV's. If they are I would imagine you could swap out a set of pipes onto your Royal star and get a set of HD mufflers. You would probably have to modify a set of mounting brackets as I dont think your bike would have the mounting area where the stock RSV pipes go.
  15. Keep flapping those gums Froggie, if you need a hand getting it back together give me a call.
  16. The door is always open my friend and the spare bed is comfortable
  17. Tim, Your still more than welcome to come over and we can double check all of them with the carbtune.
  18. ....and there you go Dan Glad I could help
  19. Lonna and I went out this afternoon too, about 100 miles and yep we too stopped for Ice Cream
  20. I'll add something here, even though I will never put one on any bike I own. It seems to be just with the heavy bikes that I have heard them failing on and always the rears. All the HD's I heard them failing on were the Ultras and comparable sized bikes.
  21. Mine is the trunk rack as it's very useful on long trips, the battery covers on certain colors would be my second.
  22. Good to hear your having a good time Nice pics and Lonna and I are planning to head to the Grand Canyon next year after going to the international. Be safe and we are looking forward to seeing the THOUSANDS of pics we know you have
  23. Changing the clutch spring (there is only 1) in the 1300's is very easy and can be done with the bike on the sidestand and without changing the oil. I have installed half a dozen or better PCW kits, and I highly recommend them. If your really worried about changing the friction discs then do it for your piece of mind. I have never changed any of the friction discs in all the clutch changes I have done, just added the PCW kit and as mentioned clean the glaze off the steels in the clutch setup. http://www.pcwracing.net/
  24. Kind of a subjective question, I would imagine it would be all in how you hit the tire and where in the length of it you ran it over. Regardless it wouldn't be fun and lots of pucker fator would be involved. If I had to hit one I would try to hit it square and somewhere in the center of the length, so it would be evenly split by the bike and unable to kick up on the side of the bike.
  25. Something you might want to think of is if you plan on keeping the bike for a while then perhaps it's time to upgrade the front brakes to an R1 set up. Go into the search bar and type in R1 and it will bring up all the threads on these brakes.
