  1. Jeff, I find unless your giving something away these days at pennies on the dollar, nobody is buying anything. I have had things that I have been trying to sell and that seems to be the case. The economy sucks, regardless of what the govt and press will say. Folks aren't spending money because they dont know what the hell is going to happen. I wish you luck my friend, If my money situation was better I would fly to Florida and ride that bike back to Texas.
  2. Took the words right out of my mouth Kevin!
  3. I might be misunderstanding Jay then, I never have them contact me at my email, it's always through CL reroute. I was thinking that there was a way to make it so nobody could get ahold of you through email, just a call or text. I always break the phone number up, I dont get too many of the spams, I spot them a mile away.
  4. Jay, Is there a setting that you go into on CL that you can do this? I went to my account to do just what you mentioned, but perhaps I'm too dense to figure it out
  5. Hell for that price I could buy a sheet of rubber and make templates and sell them for $25 with free shipping
  6. Randy, I have a set of turn downs with the rubber with them. I can make a template and cut it out on some rubber and sent them to you if you would like. I am trying to sell the tips and want to keep the rubber inserts with them for their sale. I also noticed in the pic that there wasn't a tank cover on the bike. Do you need one of them or did y'all just take it off for the trip, I have 3 in the garage that I could send you one for the shipping...
  7. The V&H do sound really nice from the video, probably better in person. I will say 1 thing, I noticed electrosport charging items. You may or may not want to hear this, but I have dealt with them and I will never do so again. Had multiple issues with a R/R I installed on one of my '99's and the customer service was terrible. I hope your experience is better than mine was, but keep your receipt handy in case there are issues....
  8. Thanks for the pics Tom, good to see you Florida area folks getting together regularly
  9. Have you shared your experience with the Dyna folks?
  10. LMAO! Point taken Marine
  11. I can't say for sure for the early Royal Stars, but I positively know that any starter from the '99 to present RSV will work. I have a starter that came off a '99 RSV on my bike....
  12. Just been sitting Bob, not long after we got it back here to Texas it dropped #6 intake valve. Needless to say I have the motor out and will be taking the head in to have it reworked. The way money has been flying out of this household with both the kids and everything else, it's been VERY tight around here. I'll get it going again, too much invested in it now to just junk it. Just taking a lot of time
  13. Lonna had mentioned to me that they have released Debbie from the hospital with nothing seriously wrong. Great news and I appreciate all of your help with the knee mail
  14. My Deka battery just came in today, and I installed it. One thing I am certain of, the starter makes all the difference in the world. I have a 2nd gen starter on the '86 with the upgrade wires and it spins it around REALLY fast hot or cold. If you can find a 2nd gen starter on ebay it's a direct swap, fit right in.
  15. Just picked up a new to me truck on Tuesday and now it's 38 and raining here in Houston Texas. Just got that one in time so I didn't have to ride the bike in the cold rain
  16. I just purchased this one for my '83 4 days ago [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004D8K58C/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1]Amazon.com: Deka Sports Power ETX-18L: Sports & Outdoors@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41tHis56eCL.@@AMEPARAM@@41tHis56eCL[/ame] I have one in my '86 and love it!
  17. I read the title of the thread and said to myself, I was one of those in a younger life. Heated the house when I was a teen with a wood stove, so I got very familiar with axes and splitting mauls FWIW....I would just go with an engine powered hydraulic one, buy it once and be done with it
  18. I know just how you feel, I met my biological father when I was 34 for the 1st time. That was an interesting meeting and I'm glad that I decided to take the gamble and do it. I wish you all the best building a relationship with your mother
  19. Knowing both of you and spending time the same, it's great to hear this Walt! I know how proud you are of him and you have every reason to be ....and Wes, nice job there buddy, great looking car, were proud of you here in Texas!
  20. There are some of you folks that have been here a while that remember Tom Hendry from over in Blanco Texas. He doesn't post here anymore, but Lonna had told me tonight, she read via facebook, that his wife, Debbie, was in a bad car wreck which the car turned over 2 times. I dont know the extent of her injuries, but if you could drop a little prayer to the man upstairs, I'm sure Tom wouldn't mind. If I can get some info to pass on I will....
  21. Sgt. Woods.... Atleast your consistent brother, and may the joy of the Christmas season be with you and your family
  22. I hope the news gets better for y'all, we'll say a prayer for his recovery.
  23. If you can, post up a pic or a schematic and that may help out a bit. I might have one, but I need to know exactly what I'm looking for....
  24. Your alright for a misplaced Texan, and I couldn't agree with you more. This place and it's people are the best Christmas gift I could ask for
