  1. I usually held it the 2nd or 3rd weekend on January as the holidays put too much on everyone's plate. It's great to see y'all getting after it, I miss hosting it and seeing all you folks. I love Texas, but Lonna and I miss all you nuts up there
  2. Good on ya both Kirby, quite an accomplishment these days....Congratulations
  3. Yes it does Buddy
  4. WOW!
  5. Your killin me Jeff!
  6. Ann, I am so sorry to hear of your brothers passing, I came very close to loosing mine 4 weeks ago. Never easy to loose any of your loved ones, but hopefully your silver lining is that he is pain free and with his maker. God Bless you and your family during this time of loss....Love y'all kiddo RIP Neville
  7. We can get it fixed, get on after it and over here and we'll make sure all is right with the world and your bike
  8. Go back to McRae's on the river in Algonac
  9. I can't talk about the Kenda's, but have heard decent things about them. I have run the Shinko's and I'm still running them on 2 Ventures right now. My '83 has a set of the 230 Tourmasters and my '86 has a set of the 777's on it. I like them both, the 230's will wear faster on the rear, about 8K is all your going to safely get. The front will probably go twice that, so 2 rear to 1 front, but I run my bikes hard and love to play in the twisties. The 777's are still new with only about 2500 miles on them but are wearing great. I wouldn't be afraid to buy them, at $150 for the 230's and $180 for the 777's, it's cheaper than shelling out $300+ for some of the brand names if money is tight. If money isn't an option I'll say Avon Venoms in a heartbeat....
  10. Good on ya Doug! Nothing like getting an older one back to life, enjoy your new ride
  11. Paul, Pull the right saddlebag, the right muffler, the rear brake caliper and it's mounting arm (once the axle shaft is out). Keep the pinch bolt tight on the swing arm and remove the cotter key from the left side and break the nut loose 27mm if memory serves me right. Remove the nut from the shaft, break the pinch bolt loose 12mm and slide the rear axle shaft out. The bike will have to be on a lift in the air as you wont have the clearance to get the tire/rim out from under the bike otherwise. Pull the wheel strait towards you from the right side of the bike and you'll have to jimmy it around a bit to slide it out. Make absolutely sure that the rim once you remove the tire from it is spotless clean. Also be sure the valve stem is tight to insure no leaks. To grease the fingers you will need to remove the external snap ring from the rim shaft and pull the splined hub strait up. You may have to pry with a small prybar. Clean those fingers off with sandpaper and apply some good wheel bearing grease. Make sure you remember to install the rubber oring back on before you install the spline again. Before you set the tire/rim assembly back on the rearend, put some of the same wheel bearing grease on the splines. Dont gob it on, but dont be sparingly either. Reassemble the way you took it off. Remember to go into the tech library and read up on how it's done, the phone is on
  12. I really appreciate your story telling abilities Puc, and you have met many of the salt of this group. Many of the folks you met are very near our hearts, I'm glad you were able to meet them
  13. Welcome back buddy, I hope you and Leslie have a great Christmas and best of luck with the job....I know your pain
  14. I wish my plate wasn't as full as it is Paul, I would have liked to have helped you with this. Just remember when you put the rear axle nut back on it's 110 ft lbs to torque it back to specs. If you run into issues call me.
  15. No comforting words can help what your going through. I can empathize with your situation as I have been there giving care to Grandparents before they passed. I wish you and all your family the strength to carry on through this. May your mother not suffer needlessly, and you all have the peace you need to send her to her eternal life....all the best.
  16. Well Yeah!! He's absolutely a Canadian
  17. Happy Birthday Brian....Eh!
  18. That is one Dia-bo-lical piece of machinery there......I like it!
  19. Well I hope so! It's all for you Father time
  20. Enjoy wherever you go Jeff, I know you deserve it for all the years of putting up with those AH's you have had to deal with
  21. Jeff, I find unless your giving something away these days at pennies on the dollar, nobody is buying anything. I have had things that I have been trying to sell and that seems to be the case. The economy sucks, regardless of what the govt and press will say. Folks aren't spending money because they dont know what the hell is going to happen. I wish you luck my friend, If my money situation was better I would fly to Florida and ride that bike back to Texas.
  22. Took the words right out of my mouth Kevin!
  23. I might be misunderstanding Jay then, I never have them contact me at my email, it's always through CL reroute. I was thinking that there was a way to make it so nobody could get ahold of you through email, just a call or text. I always break the phone number up, I dont get too many of the spams, I spot them a mile away.
  24. Jay, Is there a setting that you go into on CL that you can do this? I went to my account to do just what you mentioned, but perhaps I'm too dense to figure it out
  25. Hell for that price I could buy a sheet of rubber and make templates and sell them for $25 with free shipping
