Thats is a very nice recurve, I appreciate all of the hand crafted bows, shot for many years and enjoyed every minute of it

Thanks for the heads up

I can tell you that besides Don, Black owl, Boo, Sofa Pilot were some of the 1st members of VR.org. I was about the 400 mark when I joined and Brad T has been here longer than me. There are a few "Old timers" here

Yep.....and you dont see a lot of Dogs in Mexico either

The actual lid on the trunk is adjustable and can be moved down if the lid isn't fitting tight along the seal, that could be one of the noises. The other could be if the front fairing isn't set properly. They aren't hard to pull off but there is a bit of finagling to get them in the right spot. Perhaps some of the bolts on the inside of the fairing are loose....just throwing out random thoughts

Those clamps are what works on the R/K mufflers and should work fine on this application also. Shep, did I send you a link for them a while back, CRS is getting bad these days

Not mine you goof!....but mine is a nice used one Thats what I was leaning towards when I made my statement, knowing what you just mentioned I wouldn't offer any more than about $2500 for the bike.
-
I know Don can change it, I'll ask him how it's done as I might be able to access it also. If you really want it done, let me know and we'll make it happen. BTW that is me just being a smart alec, I mean no disrespect by it, but I broke my tounge trying to say your last name about 3 weeks ago

Colortune, I don't think I am impressed . . .
Squidley replied to V7Goose's topic in General Tech Talk
I'm with you Goose, I wasn't real impressed with it either. Mine broke at Floyds maintenance day as they are a PITA to use on an RSV. They exchanged it easily enough with no hassles. I found the same thing as you in the fact that there was a large gray area of how much to turn the screws. I'll probably try it again, but I would love to see a detailed how to video of how it's "Supposed" to work -
PB&J.....from what I have seen with your "sketches" just let your talent flow and design whatever you wish. I'm sure it will be fantastic...good work bud

To be honest, there is a lot of work to do to that bike. It has already been messed with and I wouldn't be surprised if it has a salvage title. Not trying to rain on anyones parade, but by the time that you fixed it all up and looking pretty, you'll probably have about $5 or $6 K in it. You could buy a nice used one for that kind of money and not have to screw with it. If it was purely a project and it didn't amtter when it was finished, that might work out

The 130 will give a more neutral feel on the bike, but there is a cost. If you do a lot of riding IE; interstate, you will get pushed around a lot more by the wind. I have had a 130 Avon Venom on my 2nd '99 and didn't like the squirrely feeling in a heavy cross wind. If you have the inseam height to go with leveling links and the stock 150 front, I think you will be much happier as the results are almost identical. I have run both ways and have an inseam of 32 inches.

Lyle....all I know is that we were taken to Baton Rouge Hospital and it didn't take us an hour to get there

I'm with Jack on this one, that scoot has lots of bling and I would just hold out the adjuster. If he says he'll give you $2200 and keep the bike, tell him you want him to find you the same bike with all the extras in the same condition and bring it to you.....I wont even get started on claim adjusters

I feel for you....No really I do

problems with turn lihts
Squidley replied to Raiki's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I think that I would start looking for a grounded out wire, or the flasher relay. I know we'll get some others to chime in as long as we keep this up top -
Oil in air box
Squidley replied to 5bikes's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Many times if you have this it is because the crankcase is over filled with oil. The 1st gens are especially tempermental to having too much oil. I never fill them over half of the site glass, even if it's just under the top of the glass it will spit oil in the airbox. -
Definitely different....but not something I would want to drive, kudo's for thinking out of the box though

Thom, We took I-10 from NOLA to Houston and back to Baton Rouge. The road wasn't bad if you are in a car, but we all know that my bike didn't like that stretch before Baton Rouge If you in the cage you should be just fine, if your on a bike, WATCH those damn reflectors as I'm sure thats what took our rear tire out
