  1. Dan, Give me a call, I can explain it better over the phone than on the forum. Short run on how I do them is make sure the drooping end of the u joint is centered in the tube and directly down. I take the driveshaft and pig and tilt the front fwd and pig up high and slide it in keeping as much angle in the tube as possible. I have had some that fought me hard for an hour and I walked away. Went in the next day after a good sleep and it went right in. Sometimes the gods are against you and walking away makes all the difference in the world.
  2. and if your looking for a wiper, Eck showed me this one and I have to say it is VERY slick http://www.lewipe.com/
  3. Damn! I wish I could have been there to see that
  4. Nice pics Wayne, looks like you folks had a great time
  5. Any "Gear Head" knows why, some of us are wired with oil and antifreeze in our veins. There is something about having lots of horsepower and the out of body experience that we get with a machine ie; not necessicarily a motorcycle, with lots of power. To me one of the biggest highs is being at a drag strip and a 1000+ horsepower machine rockets down the strip. The feeling of harnessing that power at your fingertips is something that can't be explained. I suppose I could ask some of the women why they love to go shopping. I personally dont get a thrill of walking around all day looking at things that I'm not going to buy. It's the same question that people that dont ride a bike ask...it's not something that can be explained, it has to be experienced
  6. I know how it hurt at 41 to bounce off the highway, not something I want to do again
  7. We know Buddy
  8. Take your time and heal up right, I know too well about laying a bike down I'll second the Uhaul you could even get an enclosed truck one and put it in there. Wish I was closer as I have a trailer that we could get it with. Let us know what you need and we'll try to get something working.
  9. Thank you my friend...a hunting I will go...a hunting I will go
  10. Squidley

    RV ?

That is a nice setup, if I were to have the cash to get something like this I believe that this would be the ticket with the garage in the back. Get a 1 ton or ton and a quarter pick up and be able to have a vehicle for nasty weather and the bike seems like a win win to me.
  11. Can you imagine that Don, people actually LIKE you.....whodathunktit
  12. Dont forget to bring them boxing glove's with you to MD Not to worry my friend, her bark is way worse than her bite
  13. Jay, It looks in the pics that it is covered in leather, is that correct? Does it have a removable liner for cold weather that covers your ears? I was looking for exactly a helmet like that with air vents and a liner for colder weather riding.
  14. I got your back Buddy...you know that Mini, Ramona, Peggy and Cindy dont scare me
  15. I guess I'll have to see how this lays out, I want to feel that you sincerely want to have me on your list. I am a sensitive guy and I truly hate rejection, good things are worth waiting for, so I'll have to wait a bit
  16. I like the family pic, glad that you folks were able to get over there and see everyone
  17. There are so many folks that will lead you astray here Taters. I would like to join your list, but not at the cost of being deemed not necessary later I guess I'll just have to wait and meet you at Freebirds Maintenance day, then you will see who the REAL troublemakers are....good luck with your friend list BTW DanO is one of those that will lead you into a dead end some times
  18. We have some of the Canadians coming over so we'll have to hook up with you folks at the show. See you there tomorrow
  19. Meatloaf, You mentioned that when you ride with the choke on it somewhat runs. To me it sounds like the carbs are a definite part of the problem. I would check all of your vaccume lines as I had a problem with one of my '99's that ended up being a vaccume line that was off. There are 3 vaccume port plugs on the carb intakes, make sure that they are in good condition and not age cracked. I'll second the notion of checking for folks in your area, I know that there are many of us that will come over and give a hand. If you weren't so far south I would be more than happy to shoot over. We'll try to keep this up top so folks can see it, paitence is a virtue with these bikes.
  20. I wanna go....but I dont think that I'll be able to make it in time. Go ahead with out me and if I catch up with you it'll just be icing on the cake
  21. Yes, you would have to have a relay between it and have the relay power up by 1 of the accessory wires. I would also use a large amp relay at least 40 amps if your going to try to feed a large fuse block.
  22. Don, It's been good to see you being more active on the site, as well as all the Texas members that seem to get together regularly. It was great to have you be able to bring Sara up to Kitchener and spend some time with you at the rally. I wish you and all the members a better '09 that the past year. Looking forward to seeing you again here real soon
  23. Nice work Craig....thanks for thinking of it
  24. I'll speak for me and I do not NEED a woman to take care of me. I have taken care myself for many years and dont need to have anything done for me. Momma didn't raise dummies here
  25. All depends upon what you really want, does your Sig other ride with you? Do you like having the cruise and radio? How comfortable do you want to be on longer trips? Lots of variables to think of but it's all in what you want out of a bike. If my wife would have refused to get back on a bike after our accident I wouldn't have bought another Venture. Mine would have been an ST 1300, if you can take the 1300 out for an extended ride I would do so. Once the deal is done....it's done
