Cool looking...I like it. Yeah on the black aspect too -
It's interesting, and I have to say that they are thinking out of the box, nothing wrong with that. The 1st gen was like that when it came out in '83, people went What is that! It's obviously just a bar hopper, and thats fine as there are folks that are into that kind of riding. Obviously we aren't but I have to say that I do like the design of it. As always...I would love to take it for a ride

Scott, June 6th will be the deadline, we'll weigh in the folks that are volunteering at Dons that are there. The rest of the folks will have to let me know on the 6th via PM or on the site. I will start the pledge right here, I will donate .07 per pound no matter how much is lost by the volunteers

Great cause...good on him, but I guarantee that that pic is just for publicity. There is no way in hell that he rides in those temps without a helmet. His ears, nose and face would be frost bit off in about 10 minutes.

Let me say 1st off that I HATE the stock grips, biggest POS (yeah I feel that strongly) on the bike. The diameter for me is too small, my hands go numb after 40 miles with the stock ones. The leather ones are a larger diameter, and my hands definitely appreciate that. I dont know about them getting nasty with the weather as I haven't experienced that....but I love mine.

That is one of my favorites too, got it on DVD, Real men with John Ritter and Jim Belushi is another one, The Mel Brooks films too. I still laugh at Wild Hogs, 'specially when the geek keeps running into things on his bike

OK Folks, Now it's time to start with the donation amounts. We have our volunteers 21 folks that have taken the baton and will "Run" (pun intended) with our hopes of big weight loss. What we are going to do is have all you members donate towards the total combined weight that all the volunteers have decided to loose, this total is 567 lbs. This weight is what all of us are trying to loose, this also is all that we will ask you folks to honor as far as your donation amounts. If we loose more as a group, the donors will not have to pay above the 567 lbs if they do not wish to. If we end up loosing 700 lbs as a group, thats great and if folks want to donate for whatever the total is thats even better. There is a twist for us who are trying to loose the weight. If we dont meet the goal that we have set for ourselves we will have to pay $1 for every pound we miss our goal by. Kinda keeps us honest about loosing the weight The totals will be taken at Freebirds Maintenance Day on June 6th in Oberlin Ohio. So now it's time to present this to you folks, figure out what you believe that you would like to donate. Just to make it easy to figure out, 0.10 per pound will be $56.70 so you can figure it out what will work for you. As always Thank you to all you that donate and will help to champion this cause. St. Judes is a wonderful hospital and if you went and saw how much good is being done there, you wouldn't hesitate. I will be handling all of the donation amounts, so if your interested in donating PM me with the amount per pound and I'll keep track of all of it. Thank you to all our volunteers who have jumped on board and helped with this idea. Thank you to '93 Venture who thought of it....let the bidding begin Link to 1st thread http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=30853

Virago's are a decent bike and that would be a good around town runner. Corrosion can be cleaned, if you can get it delivered for $750...I'd say go for it.

We are done! OK....the folks that are signed up are our volunteers. I will be starting another thread here with all the details. Thank you for all the folks that have volunteered to loose the weight and for Darren for thinking it up....stay tuned for the details

New Idea for Air Filters
Squidley replied to dlhoulton's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have been thinking of doing the same thing, with a little different air cleaner. I think it looks great and my only concern would be that it would run lean as you really dont have any restriction. My plans were to install ajet kit when I switched over and color tune it accordingly. I would imagine that the throttle responce would be great seeing you would be able to get more air in and out (if you had free flowing mufflers)...looks good to me -
It's not a terrible job Rooster, just takes some time. You going to put a progressive in the rear?
-
Seeing you started a thread....what are you looking for??

I understand where your coming from Joe, very scary times here in Michigan. I wouldn't be here if I didn't have the job that I do. best of luck to you with the bike and I hope your able to get things turned around very soon.
