  1. Just to let folks know this contains a bit of language that some might offended by
  2. Looks like a Utopia, but I will mention also Diamond R as they have an outstanding backrest. I have one on my bike (Diamond R) and I love it, quality is outstanding and they do so much for this website...give them a look. http://www.diamondraccessories.com/yamaha/proddisplay.php?name=RSV%20Overstuffed%20Backrest
  3. Dan, #2 is the left front carb, I do believe that all the bodies are the same. Thanks for the update bud, do appreciate your sticking with me
  4. If you feel that it is mechanical then take it back to the dealer, thats why it has a 5 year warranty.
  5. Thats cool
  6. It could Bob, but what he's describing is a text book weak spring. If there was air in the system he would feel it all through the shifting and clutching movments.
  7. Thanks for the info Russell
  8. Carb sync is the easiest and cheapest, do that 1st. 81 kilometers is 45000 miles roughly, kinda find it hard to believe that it would be a Ujoint that soon
  9. Yeah...Yeah what the directionless guy said
  10. Could be a few things....did you look to see if the tires are cupped front and back. How is the rear drive lube oil level, and it could be dry splines. These are just a couple off the hip ideas.
  11. Just for a bit more clarity, here is triangulation on lights....
  12. This is also a good thought, if you are using energy conserving oil it will cause the clutch to slip. Just wanted to throw that in as well, but if your bike has a decent amount of miles on it and your using the proper oil....go with PCW
  13. Thom, This is exactly what I did with my '99, took several ads for '99's and what market value was. Dont let them off the hook, we'll find you some bikes that you can say "here it is"
  14. Gary, As with all the other, best of luck with it. We had a young woman have it done at work and she's dropped about 50 lbs since having it done around Thanksgiving. Just remember it's a lifestyle change and you have to be in it mentally. As always we are here for you and I'm very excited to see how you do with it...be safe my friend. PS: Here's to you being Half the man you are
  15. Would have been GREEN if he did

    Im Safe

Thank you for your sacrifise Clay, let us know what you need over there....be safe my friend
  17. I haven't been dropping a lot of weight, but I have noticed that my endurance is increasing and my back isn't as sore. I would definitely like to loose weight, but I like the idea that my efforts are making me stronger. It will come off eventually, we all just have to keep at it. It's a lifestyle change, not a sprint, remember that and it puts it in a much easier perspective to keep at it BTW I'm still real proud of all of you folks for making the effort and for a good cause
  18. Murph, I'm with Boomer 100% you probably recieved the wrong oil in the bike. I run the same as the Chief and I haven't had any issues with my '08 and it has 9300 miles on it. Change the oil out and put non energy conserving in it, it might take a couple of oil changes to completely get the slippage gone.
  19. Here is a simple idea that doesn't require a rear end swap (which I plan on doing) Install a Dyna 3000 chip in the bike, it allows you to dial in the timing curve and increase the rev limiter. Here's one on ebay right now http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dyna-3000-Ignition-Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-RSTD-99-08_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43976QQihZ015QQitemZ250371876797QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  20. Nice work Jim I would expect nothing less from a member of uncle sams yacht club
  21. Looks like a good deal Greg, I'm sure you'll get lots of miles out of her
  22. I'll throw this in FWIW I have run many different brands on 1st and 2nd gens. I currently have an '08 with the factory Dunlops on them, and I HATE them. To me Dunlops (404's not the E3's) are terrible in the rain and track a tar snake just as bad. Many like them, but for my riding style I dont. I LOVE, let me say this again LOVE Avon Venoms and will always ballyhoo them, I have also run the Michelin Commanders and they run a close second to the Avons. Goose has dont some extensive research on different tires and has given some very in depth and honest opinions. Just like everything in life, dont take our words for it, test some out, your riding style is different than mine perhaps.
  23. You started it
  24. I just checked on a Johnson forum and they were saying 50 to 1 on an '84 motor. The older pre 70's were 25 to 1 on the same forum.
  25. Just for giggles check the oil level in the crank case, if for nothing more than being over cautious. The paper underneath is a great idea too, run it and see where it's coming from.
