    yup yup

You know I was thinking of you and Mom just a few days ago Bull. Good to hear that your doing well and the move to Florida is on. It's always good to see you on here and I do have the viking on my bookmarks. You folks be safe and we look forward to catching up with you 2 again soon
  3. As long as your both happy thats all that counts
  4. You could, but I usually dont hear of folks doing that. Anything that is in tap water wont do any damage to the inside metals as thats what the corrosion inhibitors are for in antifreeze
  5. Sounds good to me
  6. I helped Dray install one of his Vstar, he loves it. Also Carbon One has used them before and installed them on Suzuki Volusia's with no problems....I'd say go for it
  7. Excellent advise with this post, always back a clicker off. I have a 3/8" snapon clicker that goes up to 100 ft lbs and that does pretty much everything on the bikes. I would absolutely suggest you get at least 1 and if you can afford to get a 3/8" and a 1/2" then do it, they are a great investment
  8. No problem Mike, glad to help I have heard it's somewhat compatable, but I haven't researched it for all the facts. For all the driving in all kinds of weather conditions, the Valvoline I have been using is top notch.
  9. She's not the only one that calls you that And I have seen you look like that on several morning afters
  10. Your not the 1st one to do this and jlh3rd is correct on the torque, it isn't much. Go to the dealer and order new bolts for it, as mentioned they stretch and even though I have used the old ones in the past, as long as you have to get one, get them all. They are less than a grade 5 bolt and just FWIW all standard bolts have a maximum torque value that they can withstand according to their diameter size. Sometimes we tend to want to torque the hell out of a bolt when it isn't necessary If you have doubt's about your torque wrench then absolutely get a new one or take yours in to be recalibrated (if it's a click type) No worries you didn't hurt anything besides the bolt and I would imagine that a shop should have some bolts on hand.
  11. Fred Vogt here on the site has run a C/T on the front of his trikes for many years. Shoot him a PM and I know he'll have lots of good advise to give you, he's in Nevada.
  12. Mike, Use a good quality anti freeze Prestone, Peak ect.... and use ONLY brake fluid that is either DOT 3 or 4, NO DOT 5! here is a pic of what I use in my bikes that I have to change fluid on.
  13. There is a break in period for every engine that the fuel economy will be bad as the rings seat themselves in. Make sure that you run it through all the RPM ranges and dont set the cruise on it for long periods, this will help the break in. My '08 gets about 38 mpg, but I like to play with it and many times I'm heavily loaded 2 up. The average is about 40 mpg for most the members depending upon how you play with it....have fun with your new toy
  14. Dont get much better than that in Michigan in March
  15. Has anybody talked to Sportmax and see what they do to the rearends? My concern is that it's a simple gear swap where they set the gear lash on the Vmax gears they are installing in the pumpkin. I would be interested how long they guarantee the work for and if they are replacing seals and going through the rearend?
  16. If you have done ANY work on the carburetors you need to resync them. I also would recommend that you do a complete tune up, wires, wire caps and a new set of plugs. You should also check to see what your float levels are at on all 4 carbs. If you dont have a manual, you need to get one.

    Bear Cub

How many times did Gerry say "No you can't keep him"
  18. Spray some electric cleaner in the starter switch Earl. That could be sticking, and as stupid as this sounds...check the bulb, we'll help you get it figured out.
  19. I would dare say that you need to replace the spring, I have gone through this on lots of Ventures both 1st and 2nd gens. For under a $100 you can get the problem resolved, go to this website http://www.pcwracing.net/ Talk with John Ganey and he will set you up with what you need. Tell him you want the clutch upgrade kit for the Venture. I have done 5 2nd gens with this problem and it all went away afterwards. I also would change out the brake fluid in all your reserviors just because it's 10 years old more than likely is the original stuff.
  20. Looks good, Lonna and her girlfriend rented a Sebring convertable when they were in Florida in January '06
  21. Haven't seen any Robins here in Michigan yet, but thats a sure sign that it's coming
  22. Yeah...were pretty happy about being here with you all too
  23. Good to see you on Vin and that it's just life thats getting in the way. As always keep yourself safe and were looking forward to seeing you and Sam at MD
  24. I'm definitely with Lutz on this one, I have tried several different pads and the EBC HH sintered ones perform the best in my opinion.
