Unfortunately the 2nd gen fuel filter is in a worse spot to get at than the 1st gen. I swapped mine out on my '99 to an inline, too bad I didn't have the bike long enought to have to change it out

We had a great time with everyone this weekend, and were glad we brought the truck instead of the bike This was the 1st time in a long while where afterwards we actually had the time to sit around and enjoy everyones company, I could get used to that Chuck was very happy with the brakes as he called me last night when he got home. It's definitely a great upgrade to install on the 1st gens. Thank you Kevin and Sue for letting me volunteer your abode for the maintenance, it was a great excuse (not that we need one) to come down and see you folks. Lonna and I are going to take a few weekends off now seeing we have been running around like chickens with our heads cut off Great time and thanks again to all for the laughs on Saturday night

I wish we could have stopped Craig, but like you mentioned, time was not with us this time. BTW thank you very much for your help on the lodging, we ended up staying in Cleveland TN and actually made it through rush hour Atlanta without having to completely stop on the eway.

Tim, Very nice work on the bike, love the color combo too, can't wait to see it in person soon

Man that was tough to keep to myself, Congrats to both of you and we are very happy to hear of the news. Can't wait to get some miles on with both of you, she looks good in leather too!

New to the forum and bike. Lot's of questions.
Squidley replied to similost's topic in General Tech Talk
You already have an idea of what needs to be done, the backrest is a must if your going to do long trips. I would also recommend highway pegs for more foot positions. Being it's a new bike and under warranty I wouldn't screw around with the AIS, if it's not broke dont worry about it. I think that the majority of the folks here will tell you to stay as far away from Metzlers as you can get, they have a bad reputation for separating on the Ventures. Avon Venoms and Michelin Commanders are my 2 favorites, many also like the Dunlops the E3's are a new design from them and folks are running them now. The suspension oil is fine, just adjust the air pressure in the forks to your liking, but remember the max is only 7 psi so dont fill them with your compressor, use a hand pump. same with the rear shock. Welcome to the site and remember if you want to look for something specifically that you can go above to the search tab, type in your queery and it will bring up all threads pertaining to your search -
Easy there tiger

Looks good Lewis, you riding it up to Freebirds for maintenance day??

Just to clear this up....this isn't about me, No Really. Lonna and I aren't headed south just yet, so the plot still thickens

Finally!! Here are a few pics of the Ruffy pad and the dinosaur he owns Thanks again for the hospitality Bro, was great even if it was just for 12 or so hours

I wont get too involved with this, but I can tell you that Don's decision to charge for this site was not an easy thing for him to do. I can relate to Z factor and Bigfoot as some folks just dont get on here as much as say me. More than likely what will happen is that the tech library will still be openly viewable, but to post and use the rest of the site will have to cost. Other than help Don directly pay his medical expenses, I believe this is the only practical way to help Don recoup the thousand of hours and monies that he has pumped into this site for the last 5+ years. I can tell you that my money will be in the mail shortly, I know Don will, but I want to thank all you folks for all that you have and will do to help Don out

Well Cindy the results of them NOT putting this guy in prison will be catastrophic for HIM. Always thinking of you folks ('cept when I forgot to phone Dale ) keep up the fight and if the fella doesn't like it, TOUGH!
-
Still thinking about you bro, the phone is always on

Jeff, It was great to see you again my friend, and thanks for keeping it hushed. I'll get some of the pics up in a day or 2

Mine will be short, the people that push the envelope know who they are, they do it for fun. The moderators DO talk with eachother about deleting threads, we all agree on their deletion. Many times we will PM members that have a thread deleted and let them know why, but like mentioned we aren't going to do it everytime, especially to folks that have been here a while. You all know that you can go to a million different sites to state your opinions, this place is for comeraderie and helping fix our bikes. It is the best managed forum on the web, I'll put that statement up to anyone. You folks make this place what it is, we just have to steer it once in a while

I saw these deflectors when we were down at Jeff's on Friday and they look VERY good. They are made out of .125 aluminum and polished very well, I dont think any of you would be disappointed with them.

Hey Charlie....what happens if I decide to but a Honda, perhaps a Valkyrie Interstate
-
Steve, I have a seat off a '99, it isn't a pillowtop, but if you sent it to Rick Butler and have it modified it might fit the bill. If your interested shoot me a PM or call my cell and we can chat a bit.
