  1. Tim, No that isn't the box, I bought mine at the time at Tractor Supply Co. but they dont make the same kind now. I can't find a box that is symetrically shaped, they all have notches in the lid to butt up against the back on the truck or angles down on the front. I have spend LOTS of hours on the internet trying to find that box that I used to no avail. If I do find a source with a reasonable price I will post it up on the site in the trailer talk section. Seems anymore mfgr's can't leave well enough alone BTW...the trailer didn't weigh much at all, less than 200 lbs.
  2. I have lost a little "size" but not that much weight, doesn't really matter as monies will be collect one way or another. Good job to you Tom keep it up
  3. This is what I always do also, I hate to say it but I do it in the car while I'm in some ugly spots in Detroit. I wont allow myself to be boxed in and have no means of escape, especially on the bike.
  4. I remember that, that was a good time
  5. Jopie, I too have gone through a few of them and none are any easier than the others. It's amazing how a furry animal can wrap your heart around it's paw and never let you go. Sending as much good carma your way in the loss of both of your pooch.
  6. I too am sorry to hear of you having to get rid of the bike. I hope your health issues can be addressed quickly and you get back in the saddle, even with a trike if need be. Best of luck in your journey and by all means dont be a stranger.
  7. Doesn't that give you a warm fuzzy Chief and you thought you didn't have friends. You probably dont realize that all the folks that emiled you are...STALKERS
  8. Kirk.... You certainly have a way of weaving a tail
  9. We went in '07 and there was a lot of bikes, it was pretty cool to walk around and see some of the vintage iron that showed up. I'm not sure if we'll be going, but it's a pretty decent blessing
  10. Gunny, A tidbit here in that the bottom center bolt on the middle gear cover has a copper crush washer. Just remember to put that one back in the right hole or it will leak there also
  11. Nice looker there Gunny, had the same bike a few years back, put lots of miles on her. Randy has some good advise there and I would check all the vaccume hoses to be sure your not sucking air anywhere. Me thinks your gonna like that one
  12. James, Freebird is by Cleveland, he'll probably come on this morning but you may want to send him a PM and see what his schedule is.
  13. Good to hear Bob, I know I was a little tripped up when I got back in the saddle after our accident. Great to hear your putting those ghosts to rest, looking forward to seeing you again
  14. Check this post out in the tech library http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=512
  15. Nice new toy, you'll love the bike
  16. Lots of extra bling on it, nice bike for a 1st gen
  17. Start checking fuses and the wiring between the triple tree and the gooseneck frame. BTW does it turn over at all?
  18. That there is a dead tire!
  19. The 2nd gens are notorious for wearing the inside pad faster than the outer. The caliper doesn't release the pads enough to get a proper clearance and thus will wear the pad as it's never fully disengaged. When I do a wash on the bike I take off the saddlebags to clean and I look at the pads by removing the plastic cover over the top and inspect the pads from there.
  20. Nice pics, glad to see you folks had a good time
  21. Carlos, Sorry about the confusion, we have been tied up here lately. I would like to suggest something for anyone that might try to do this. Dont let 1 disappointment stop you from trying, also too I have found that there needs to be atleast a weeks notice to get folks there. I have always put a date on when the meet is going to be, just to aleviate any confusion. I'll work on getting a M&E going here in the next few weeks, life is pretty hectic right now
  22. I was managing a tire store when that went down, and you hit the nail on the head. This is exactly why I say to keep the tires at max and tune the suspension, better to be safe than sorry
  23. Nothing against Buckeye as Rick has been good to our members, but if you want to install a clutch kit and forget about go with the PCW kit for the Venture http://www.pcwracing.net/ John Ganey is a great guy to deal with and for less than $100 you will have a rock solid setup and not have to worry.
  24. Mine is stock and the cruise stops at 85 on my bike
