Lewis, Check with Owl on the OPE fund and see if we have some monies to play with. This could help defray the cost to you and you pay it back once the shirts are purchasedf by their new owners.

Need some backrest pics
Squidley replied to Squidley's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Wayne, I'd like to see all the variations for the 1st gen. I have never seen the backrest pad that I have on any other Venture and would like to see how it's attached to actual support. I'll try to get some pics of what I have on so folks will understand what I am looking at. Jeff, If you have an extra set where they hook onto the side then I would love them. The mounts that Russ was able to get are off a Goldwing I'm sure. I'll get some pics of the items I have on the post here tonight- 30 replies

Hello 1st genners, I need a favor from you folks. Russ in Lowpoint Illinois was good enough to pick me up a backrest for my '89 Venture. The pad is definitely venture with the large V on it, but I fear the mounting brackets are for a Goldwing. Could some of you folks take pics of your backrests so I can see how they mount and how the backrest attaches to the support bar....much appreciated

I saw that you called and listened to the message and it was cut short, perhaps my phone didn't want to hear your babbling Actually I was helping out one of your countrymen, from Barrie, got him rolling along nicely. I do hope that you can get down here at some point, or we'll try to make it up there.

You folks have done a fantastic job! You are going to enjoy yourselves and have the time of your lives, I only wish that Lonna and I could be there with you all. Take lots of pics and try not to micro manage it, let it flow and it will ride down the road with no worries

Hate to say it....but thats his spitoon -
Harry, 1st off enjoy that trip! Lonna and I did a similar one that took us 9315 miles in 28 days. I wish I could do a ride like that every year. Here is the link to the VR assistance page, you'll have to print it out and keep it in your bike unless you have a laptop with you. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/memberlist.php?&field12=2&order=asc&sort=location&pp=30&page=1 Be safe and have a great time

Art, Let me check into a M&E up at Frankenmuth brewery, that was a good place last time. Perhaps the last weekend in July, I'll look into it and see what we can make happen. Looking forward to seeing you again....be safe

What is this sound? 1999 RSV
Squidley replied to arnesbay's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have heard what I believe is your sound before, matter of fact yesterday on an '07. I'm thinking it might be the clutch basket, but unfortunately it's a tone thing that really narrows it down. Hard to say for sure without really being able to hear it. How long has it been since your last oil change and are yop running dead dinosaurs or synthetics? -
NO....but if I hit the lottery I'll give you a call for how you want it sent Mark, It was great to be able to spend the afternoon with you yesterday, I'm glad to hear that some of the VooDoo we did to the bike helped out. I have said this to everyone here, the door is always open and if I can help someone and educate them at the same time it's a win, win. If your game on the sprocket for Jr's bike let me know as we can make that happen too. Looking forward to seeing you again and BTW....Thanks again for supper

Holy Hell! Your a blast from the past, great to see you on again, I wondered what happened to you 2! Great news on the new scoot, your gonna love it, and we'll get another M&E going on soon. Thinking about another one in Frankenmuth as the Brewery is about to reopen up there. Looking forward to seeing you and the missus again, dont be a stranger

I'm glad that this part is over for the family Dale, and like mentioned, there were many of us that would have been right behind you in what you wanted to do, I am one of them. You know Haylie means a lot to me, our time together was one of my best memories of that '07 rally. I applaud you and Cindy for not going off the deep end, time to take life by the horns again and ride on my friend. As always best wishes to all of you

V&H Monster Ovals
Squidley replied to Beau Geste's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Beau, You can do what Kbay mentioned opr just go and buy a long (read 18") 1/4" drill bit and drill a few holes in the baffle plates. I used to take an 1 1/8" holesaw and completely remove the plate. But using just the drill bit will keep some of the baffle plate in there and avoid you from getting a ticket if LE check the tailpipe of the muffler as there will be some of the material left.
