My biggest turn off on the G2's is the front fairing, I still dont like how it looks. The only saving grace is that when you add the driving lights on it, changes the whole look of the front end

My biggest question is the heat as it's air cooled. I'm not a big twin fan and even though I like thinking out of the box, I'm not crazy about the design, it is a bold step though. I guess you'll really have to take one for an extended ride and see the quirks on it.

Thats definitely not good

Looks Good, I need to get a box for the front of my trailer myself....as soon as I get a bit of free money

Nice work Buddy, sorry we couldn't make it, but we'll work on seeing you folks before we head south
-
Good to hear it wasn't worse, Thanks for being there for him Bob

That was a pond monster!

Mothers is awsome stuff, I would also get one of the Mothers powerballs and hook it up to your drill, Thats how I cleaned the Polished Diamond plate trailer I made a few years back

Good to hear you fellas got out for a ride, that is definitely some of the nicest area to be in. Lonna and I enjoyed our ride on the BRPW back in '05 whe we were coming home from the 1st Vogel

Thanks Folks, A few members had the chance to see it before we got home Big Tom, Taters, Bongobob and Becky. It didn't look anywheres near that good and I stripped it down to almost nothing and started from the ground up. The pics on the classifieds were a bit misleading, but I'm happy with the end result....and yes, I'm looking forward to putting the next 100K on her

I'm a big guy, about 275lbs and on my G2's I would run 35 solo, 40 to 45 with Momma and gear loaded and max pressure if I was also hauling a trailer.

Rick, Obviously get a new battery, Ventures are prone to what some of us call sudden death syndome, battery simply pukes for no apparent reason. Now the 1st thing I would do is change the hookup on the driving lights. I always hook mine directly to the battery with it's own fuse and hooked to a relay for switched power. If the driving lights were installed by a dealer and in accordance with the Yamaha instructions, it's going through the ignition switch, thats a bad choice and needs also to be changed. Dont rule out that the ignition switch isn't going bad either, happens all the time on the older G2's. Look also for the driving lights wire that runs by the fork stops by the upper triple tree for being pinched and arcing out. Make sure also to check and make sure the Regulator/rectifier is working right. Just some random thoughts that I'm throwing out, let us know of your progress and we'll help you get it figured out

Art, A few years back I toyed with the idea of having the international rally here in Michigan. My thought was having it up by Mackinaw as many folks have never seen a suspension bridge like "Big Mac". There is some beautiful riding in the northern lower, the fort at Michilimacinac is a cool draw as well as Tahquamenon Falls and Whitefish point in the Upper Pennisula. I'll tell you from planning a rally that it's a LOT and I mean LOTS of work. That being said, and as others have mentioned......plan it, and they will come.

Yeah...it's a strait shot to Houston, perhaps a little Fat Bastard will be in order

Thanks for the info Todd, Dave actually fixed his TCI himself as he had a cold solder joint in it. Matter of fact he's here at the house tonight on the bike, I will keep that salvage yard in memory though...Thanks Bud

Yeah he does like that Blue color

I'm sure she'd bring a high dollar, got us 3k for the ink last year

As always if it isn't seen on the site then it's not real....so here is the '89 I purchased in Vermont. I have to take a minute and thank a few folks here... Bobgobob, The mufflers cleaned up pretty well and they sound great. Also the master Cylinder and rear reservior work wondrufly, as well as the front brake handle switch, Thanks again for all of it Lonna, now I'll tell you folks something, this little woman of mine is not afaraid to get dirty or break a nail. The bike looks as good as it does because while I was fixing, she was cleaning. It looks fantastic and most of you when you do see it wont believe it has over 100K on it. Jus monkeyin around, Dave was the one that came and trailer the bike to my house when our trailer puked. He's been over to the house several times and helped me along with it, he's been a really big help with all of this I fianlly took it out today as I am still waiting on forward exhaust clamps, but improvised with hose claps to hear it run To my surprise, when I warmed it up and hooked the Carbtune to it, it was almost perfect, just a few little tweaks and level lines were had. I am very happy so far as I know this bike has been setting for awhile. It is VERY smooth running and has LOTS of power, life is good and cycle therapy is just around the corner once I get insurance on her. Thanks again to all involved with the trip to get her home and the help here in Michigan...looking forward to riding after being without one for 2 month

LOL....you ain't done yet there mister, I dont put anything past you

Stupid??? There are many of us that travel with trailers behind us, personally I couldn't see doing a week long trip without having either a trailer or basket on the hitch. Makes it so much easier to pack and not overload the bike. Just think of yourself as an adventurer speeding off into the wilderness

Dual edged sword for me, I lost my job....but I'm leaving Michigan, I know some of you folks in Texas are happy to see that

Hey Folks, I know this has been a long time coming, and I apologise for it's dealy. I have gathered all the monies and gone through who paid what and have a total for the St. Judes weight loss we did at MD. ...........$460.00 Thanks for your paitence and trust, just had to get all the owed monies collected. This turned out to be a great shot in the arm for our St. Judes yearly pledge. Thank you to all that participated and Darrin (93 Venture) for comign up with the idea way back in January. Now we just have to figure out what the next hairbrained idea will be
