  1. Quite a coincidence you post this up, I'll be looking to fill some of my kit up with some shims
  2. Dan, If you have a handy spare that you can let go of, get with Bob. I'm down with pneumonia right now and would have to take it off my parts bike....Thank Bro, your a good man
  3. I dont know if you have already done this, but I find if you go online there is a lot of you tube videos to fix just about anything. I can't personally help you with your issue, but have found out how to do lots of different repairs snooping on the web...
  4. Chris, I dont know what blend of fuel y'all have on the island, but if it has a lot more ethanol the mileage will be worse. I have ridden several tour Deluxes that ran great, but barely got 32 mpg. Winds can play havoc as well. The TC that you have is a detuned engine and has smaller carbs than the RSV's and '05 and newer Tour Deluxes. Unfortunately you mentioned someone else at a dealer going through the carbs, that could be a huge issues as well. If they didn't do it all right and set everything correctly or the wrong size jets, this could give issues as well. Give it a few days here and other much more knowledgeable carb guys will chime in.
  5. The stock size tire is as big as you can go, any bigger and it will rub the driveshaft.
  6. I Know, I Know....56 ft lbs.
  7. You should be fine if you tapped it back into the manifold. They sometimes come out and all I have ever done is exactly what you did, tap them back in gently.
  8. Only thing right off the top of my head would be float settings may give a bit worse gas mileage. Not that it has a huge bearing on fuel mileage, but have the carbs been synced?
  9. That is slick, if my memory serves me right Hummingbird had something similar to that one year in the back of his truck at MD in Ohio. Makes it a lot easier than busting your hump trying the old fashion way.
  10. It's just like Christmas on your bike, a big blue ornament with green lights
  11. Those pics right there just makes a gearhead want to cry
  12. Bob, I might have a spare in my box of goodies. I know I have one on the parts bike I have. Give me a couple of days and I'll snoop in the garage, but I have you covered either way.
  13. Thanks for the bottom headlight link, I will be replacing the sealed beam on my '79 ElectraGlide and either Cibie E code or the Hella below it will work out great
  14. Happy Belated Birthday George!!!
  15. Great news Paul, it's been a long time coming my friend
  16. Happy Birthday My Friend!!!
  17. It's really nothing folks, Dan has just yanked all the chains by getting y'all to wonder what he's up to....which is nothing. He'll come on Monday and say, Ha ha, just made you wonder about nothing all weekend!
  18. On it as I type this, I'll send the '07 Ft. Collins rally along with it.
  19. Uhhhmmm....at the rally Shoot me your address in a PM and I'll burn a CD of them for you
  20. A heavier pull on the handle usually indicates heavier springs in the clutch. If it's functioning properly, engaging and disengaging like it should, I would just run with it....
  21. If you decide you want to try a different radiator, PM me as I have one out of a parted '99
  22. Bring it!....I ain't SKEERD!!
  23. Here's a couple more...
  24. Yeah to Waller Texas on March 29th for our spring MD, hell I'll sync your carbs for free if you ride here
  25. A brand new machine, I would have to say, for me knowing that I can change the ergonomics for myself, would be hands down the F6B Wing. I have ridden the 1800 wings and like mentioned power up the wazoo. They handle superb "like on rails" and you dont have to be concerned with the electrical power output on them. If I can ever get to afford one, I will buy one for myself and have a G2 Venture as Lonna likes the comfort she has on it. I would never buy a new Venture again unless they really did their homework and made a bike that has what we want....
