  1. Come up to Kevins (Leadwolf56) M&E on Saturday and I know someone will have a carbtune with them, you can do it right in the parking lot
  2. Great to hear your ride was a good one Mark, how did the RSV perform for you?
  3. Nice job on scoring that bike, it is a very good color combo, enjoy your new ride
  4. Chuck, As much as I would LOVE to jump on that offer, I can't, But I do have some parts for the G2 laying around here that need to move out. Let us know what the bike needs and I might be able to help that along and clear out things before I move.
  5. Muffins gettin a Harley, Muffins gettin a Harley, Muffins gettin a Harley
  6. I would be interested in seeing that, I have never heard of Yamaha ever making a trailer for behind the bikes as they dont condone it. Did you let him know about us
  7. It's really not a big deal, you would spend way more time trying to fish wires under it, than you would to remove it and place the wires exactly where you want them. Dont be apprehensive, it's really just as easy as the folks have been saying.
  8. Good to hear that you got it done yourselves, that would have been 1 hell of a shipping tab to get them across the pond and back
  9. Thats been tried, it doesn't work and the membership shot it down one it was in place. Basically all I am asking for is restraint, I have to use it here as a moderator and I expect nothing less from the members. Sometimes we just need to be reminded so our site moves smoothly
  10. Great news on the total monies I have been looking at all the pics, I still wish we would have been with the family instead, but we did raise some money (albeit small) for the Sabrina Black Foundation. Rest assured I will NOT miss St. Judes again
  11. I dont know if you have one, but a backrest is a must in my book for long days in the saddle on any Venture. A set of highway pegs too helps keep you able to move your feet around. Rick Butler is top notch and his workmanship is great, let him work your seat over and I dont think you'll regret it
  12. Ride it! As long as you keep up on your maintenance, you wont have issues. When I have had the brakes lock up on my 1st gens it was because it was the original brake fluid in it and it crystalized and plugged the return orface to the master cylinder. If you haven't replaced the fluid in your brakes make that a point to do.
  13. Never outspoken Red.....
  14. I purchased a set of the Tour masters also and have about 4K on the '89 with them. So far I can't complain about them at all. As mentioned they are quiet and handle very well, I pushed them fairly hard solo when we were in Arkansas on some of the twisties there and never once did they slip. The tread depth looks real good with 4k on them and so far I have found no faults. I haven't ridden them in a prolonged rain, but did get deluged on the way to NC for about 20 minutes and I just slowed my speed down, they didn't give me any problems. I am a diehard Avon man, I have run them on every Venture I have owned and love them. But I wanted to compare these tires and see what they are all about. I have run all the major brands, Dunlop, Michelin, Metzler and Avons, some I have been happy with, others not so much. Depending upon how long these last, performance wise they seem to be very compareable with all the others that cost, well, twice as much. The B load rating on them has an 805 lb max weight. Unless your really going to load the bike down, you shouldn't have any issues, just keep the tire fully inflated. Would I but another set, we'll see how long they wear, but until then I am pretty please with the results I have got so far
  15. It was great having you and Pam here with us this weekend Hazen. I'm happy to hear that the trailer pulled well for you and I'm looking forward to seeing it match the bike. You folks take care and we'll catch up with you at some point
  16. I dont think I'll be doin' that Red, although the thought has occured to me with Charlie sometimes
  17. They're channeling eachother
  18. Thats might be it Joe, I dont know if the '83's are different from the '86. He had mentioned to me that he contacted Pinwall and they didn't have any according to him. I'll pass this on, thanks for the sighting
  19. October 2nd looks to be the day, unless something unforseen comes up, the POD will be delivered on Sept. 25th and we'll start loading from there
  20. I read that title and was afraid to open this Unique.....yeah, you definitely are that!
  21. How many bikes actually made it? I am very disappointed that Lonna and I didn't come. Our Sabrina Black Charity ride was a total bust, had less bikes on it than last year, I wish we would have went to Memphis
  22. Hey Folks, One of our members here Jack Tharpe (Zfrebird4) out of Ft. Collins Colorado is looking to find the 4 way emergency flasher switch on my former '86. If anyone has an extra one or knows where he could get one could you please post it here or PM him. Thanks for your help in this matter....Squid

  25. A word of warning also, if you replace the rectifier, buy a new one, dont screw around with used. Whatever you do DONT buy from electrosport, I had more aggrivation with them and a crap product, get the stock Yamaha one and you'll be cool
