  1. Hazen, So sorry to hear of it my friend, but it doesn't surprise me. God will open the door and you folks will be better for it. I'll keep my ears open and say a prayer for you folks. Be safe and know that things are happening for a reason.
  2. I had the same bike John, was a good little around towner. Like mentioned the engine is great and runs like hell. Enjoy that one, there aren't too many of them left around.
  3. There you go thinkin' again Mini....will you ever learn
  4. Karl, I sure do hope that this takes care of it my friend, I always hate seeing you in such pain. I'll get with you in a few days after this funeral is overwith, We'll be here an extra 2 weeks I imagine. Best of luck with the surgery
  5. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!
  6. Hey Mike....was it you that Russell was telling me about a thumb warmer that was offered to be purchased for
  7. Thats pretty trippy, she looks like she could be very menacing, but obviously not.
  8. No, I didn't buy them from Pinwall, I bought them from Motorcycle Superstore http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/28/395/6188/ITEM/Shinko-230-Tour-Master-Rear-Tire.aspx But now I just noticed that they offer the 140/90-16 which at the time I ordered they didn't have it...thats cool for the 1st gen guys. I just checked the prices there for the G2's and the deal Joe got at Pinwall is better than at Moto Superstore theirs would be $174.00
  9. I'll be interested to hear your report on the Joe. I have a set on my '89 and I am very happy with them so far, all the pluses that you have mentioned. Mine were delivered to my door for $119 if they get 10K out of them I will be very happy with that. Only issue with the 1st gen is I had to go with a 130 on the rear instead of the 140 that the bike came with. I really can't tell the difference in the sizes as far as feel on the bike.
  10. Vance, Thats one of the ones you can get, the progressive one is exactly the same thing, thats a good price
  11. Have you changed out all the brake fluid in the bike? That can sometimes lead to having a softer brake. What kind of EBC's did you use the HH's or an organic. The organics tend to be a bit softer and you might feel that. As far as the calipers, I wouldn't think that an '01 would have issues like that, but I could be wrong. Also too when you pushed the pistons back into the caliper did you clean the grime off them? might be there were some conatminents that were pushed into the system.
  12. Good to hear you got it going, just remember dont lug this engine. This engine wants high revs, I dont shift into 5th on a G2 until I'm at about 70 mph.
  13. Don, I know the Kuryakyn bags have a small zippered area between the 2 small compartments on the front of the main bag. This is where the rain cover is on those style bags, does yours have that?
  14. What kind of tires are you running? I have found, and this is why I dont like them, that Dunlops will track terribly on tar snakes and any road imperfection. I have actually had my bike be jeked over in the rain from the front tire tracking a tar snake. You have recieved a lot of good advise here but I just wanted to throw this out too

    i am needy

Thom, Here are some pics of what I did for mine. I drilled the 90 degree elbow and tapped it with a 1/2" 20 tap and installed the bolt. This took up the majority of the play in that Kuryakyn hole. If you still want the stock brackets let me know and we'll proceed from that.
  16. You know it's all your fault, you let him join back in '04
  17. Thats just good deer management, let that youngun spread some of his genetics and it will be good for many years. I have passed shots on big deer just because the shot wasn't good. I wanted to take them in an awful bad way, but it could have turned bad very easily. I think the biggest thing with any hunter is to calm down. I have had buck fever so bad at times I could have chewed through leather. The saying "calm down, Breath, pick a spot" is never more true.
  18. It can be, just ask Black Owl about going into a curve with a bad fork seal Seriously though, it will absolutely affect the handling of the bike if they are not the same. I usually kept my front shocks at about 5 psi and the rear at about 35 psi. Make sure the tires are properly inflated, you would be amazed at just a few simple things will make the bike respond well. The zero loss hand air pump is a must for all G2 owners. NEVER try to fill the front forks with an air compressor, always with a hand pump http://www.onestopmoto.com/product_p/gp-ns-00.htm
  19. OOOOHHHH just wait till I see Jean, Imma gonna tell on you
  20. I had to try it 4 times before it caught for me Jerry
  21. Gosh Dad...I was having fun stirring that pot
  22. Never good to hear such news, sounds like the entry and exit point of that tunnel has issues that need to be addressed, RIP to our fallen brothers.
  23. What is the air pressure in your front forks set at? There is a filler schrader for each side and should be no more than 7 psi.
  24. Hey Ruffy, you got some more screwed up stuff that you want to give away
  25. Which Thread?
