  1. Nice job Mark, sometimes it's easier to just get a few folks together and make things happen. We do it here in Texas all the time, looking forward to seeing the pics
  2. I'll be doing the same thing on my '02 as Bert has pictured
  3. Yes....you should be concerned!
  4. LMAO! Puc your as goofy as they come! The bike sounded good with those aftermarket mufflers. I have a set of them on my '86, Mac's or Jardines I believe. Looks like a good project for you, good luck with it
  5. Doing a great job Darrin, I love the out of the box thinking. Hopefully at some point our paths will cross and I'll get to see all your hard work in person
  6. Bring your behind here to Texas and I'll let you....might even feed you and put you up for a few days
  7. Thanks folks, it's been almost 5 years since I had to sell the '08 I bought new. I have been in withdrawls ever since. The price was right and the 401 had some money I could get so I just did it. I love it, it's got a good heart and runs great. Some nice bling and goodies on it as well. Now hopefully Lonna will be able to get some real hours back instead of working Tuesday thru Saturday and we can have 2 day weekends together to go out and ride
  8. Yeah....but it never gets ridden
  9. Me personally, thats a $200 bike, unless you really like basket cases thats all it's pretty much worth. Parting out is a crap shoot, I have put up some somewhat hard to get items and folks just aren't buying....
  10. Herb's bike is beautiful, he's as meticulous as you are Eck.
  11. I'm in total agreement with you Eck
  12. Ok, here's a few pics....I'll start another thread with the story.
  13. I'll get after it when we get home....steal in my thunder sheesh!
  14. The GS's are great bikes, had an '82 850 and they just keep on running. That will be a nice flip when you decide to get rid of it. As mentioned great starter bike for someone
  15. Only a few words that I need to say, you are my brother and Eileen is my sister. Lonna and I love you both very much and are so relieved to hear that you both have been able to work through this. We look forward to many more years of happiness for you both, and that we can continue to share our lives with you. Thank you for being the mentor and man that you are.
  16. Not to dampen your mood, but thats going to be a tough find as they are side specific. Have you looked on ebay for just one?
  17. Doors still open down here in Texas....
  18. Outstanding Paul! I know its been a tough go for you, good to hear you made it over the hump. Looking forward to seeing you at some point.
  19. This is just my portion of this, but Lonna started riding with me on my 1st Venture which was an '84. She liked it ok, then we bought an '86 and there was a bit more farkles on it like the adjustable backrest, she like it better. I bought my 1st '99 and she loved it, way more room for her to be more comfortable. She wasn't as cramped as on the 1st gens, especially if I had a backrest installed. The G2 for both of us riding together is the best bike for us. I personally like the foot position a LOT better on the G2 than a 1st gen. Do I have a soft spot for the 1st gen, absolutely, I have owned 7 of them, and 3 2nd gens. I never had to win over a diehard 1st gen guy, I sat their wife or girlfriend on the back of the 2nd gen and thats all it took....
  20. Happy Belated Birthday Mike!!!
  21. Looking forward to having you here in Texas with us Buddy. Be careful and call if you run into any issues 936 232 9299
  22. Happy Birthday Buddy!!!!
  23. I'll work on getting you some pics when I get home tomorrow Chris
  24. 6x12 is a good size, I had one and it worked great... 0.02
  25. Chris, There are quite a few of us that have taken the covers off the rotors. It gives the bike a completely different look. I have taken them off every 2nd gen I owned (3 of them so far) Pull the front rim off, take a torx bit and pull the bolts off. Remove the cover, put a little blue locktite on the threads and tighten them back up.... and for your original question, I'm not sure about the different rotors. I know some have put the chrome Stratoliner rim on the RSV, others will chime in.
