  1. Your about the only one that appreciates the huge effort that it took to make it happen. I can't guarantee it for Christmas though, but I'll try
  2. I'm wanting to do a couple of oil changes Replace front and rear tires Change out rearend to the FJR1300 that I have See how far around the state of Texas I can go ....and hopefully find a job
  3. All the more reason for you to come down and TRY to fulfill that vision in your head. But just remember I have bikes to ride down here and I know how easily your swayed by Ice Cream and a ride on a bike
  4. Think I already did
  5. Dont get me wrong fellas, I'm not bashing Buckeye, I have used Rick for a lot of years for many different things. I know there are quite a few folks that have installed his stator and have zero issues with them. Unfortunately, like I was explaining to Gunboat tonight at dinner, I have no way of knowing what a brand new stator does with all the crap connected to it. I am VERY happy with my results thus far from the Buckeye stator, I dont want that to be misconstrewed.
  6. Imma goona be even meaner here....it's going to be 72 on Tuesday
  7. Are you talking about YOU or the snowblower?
  8. I'll tell you all something, I had to laugh as I normally drive FM 1960 here in N Houston. It's usually a racetrack and folks are just flying around. Today as it was lightly snowing, you would have thought that a convention of Bluehairs were driving, I was laughing so hard it hurt!
  9. Hey Buddy....could I borrow it down here for a night, had some snow here today
  10. Welcome to the group Frank I believe that you'll fall in love with the V4 once you get the RPMs and powerband down. Now that GTS is a RARE bike as I have only seen 1 in person, enjoy the site and if you have questions....ask them. BTW for those of you thgat have never seen a GTS, here is some info on it. It's truly a remarkable machine that never caught on. http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/yamaha/yamaha_gts1000_abs.htm
  11. OOOOHHHHHHH Jonas you made that Tater Tot mad, you better get to work buddy, you know she can be mean...I mean look with the spouse she has to put up with
  12. Yeah "But a few of them are such friendly sounding words" your really showing your age Steve
  13. ....and thats why I moved south
  14. Wally, Lots of good info, and a few rants here on this thread. I believe that they are called passing lights as they are supposed to be used in conjunction with your high beams. When you go to pass another vehicle many time folks will flash their brights to let the driver know he is about to be passed. Myself, reguardless of the name, I call them driving lights. I have had additional "Driving Lights" on every Venture I have owned. For me it was a matter of need as I wanted more lighting up front as I left for work at 5am and it was always dark out. I lived in a heavily deer populated area and wanted all the extra fwd lighting I could get. My lights are always angled just slightly off to either side and properly aimed from maximum illumination. It also serves as more lights to be seen in the daytime by drivers. I have mine set up in a triangular fashion as it catched the eye a lot faster. It's all about being seen or seeing a problem before it arises. I know it's been said about legality of it all with running 3 lights, but I'm not going to give some nimrod the excuse of "I didn't see him" as they bring my dead body to my spouse. I have NEVER been pulled over by any LEO for running with my "Driving Lights" and high beam on
  15. Dennis has it right there, thats all the difference from the standard to the "S" model. Myself for the extra $500 I would go with gthe "S" as I like the chrome forks better.
  16. NOPE!
  17. John, The part # on Rick's Motorsports page is 27-21412H for 159.95. It states for an '05 but ALL the RSV's are the same exact thing. I hope this isn't a deal where we are being duped as Gunboat and I just installed Buckeye stators on our bikes, his '99 and my '89. I will say though that mine is charging very nicely and even with Lonna's heated pants it keeps up very well. Gunboats bike the same way too as his lights are MUCH brighter with his new stator on.
  18. If you can buy the parts bike cheap I suggest you do so. As far as diaphrams, if your gonna keep your bike, and the ones you have are bad, just lay the money down and buy new ones and have the piece of mind.
  19. Yeah That! I gotta laugh though, Don came home this morning and right as rain (frozen kind) it was snowing Nice thing is, on Tuesday it's gonna be 70 degrees again
  20. Cool Beans!!!

  23. Took me almost an hour to read the whole story, that kid will NEVER forget that trip
  24. HELLO!!!!
  25. Measure up your trunk in halves both vertically and horizontally. Take measurements of the holes on the rack and place masking tape on the corrisponding spots on the trunk lid where you want the rack to sit. Place the rack on and trace around the outside of the holes. measure in the circle being exact as you can be. Drill a bit oversized hole for some clearance and remove the tape. Install the harware and tighten it down, but not reefing it. The hardest part is drilling into a perfectly good lid, once you do it it's no problem. ...or you can ride it to Houston and I'll install it for you free!
