Kuryakyn ISO Grips...I've read them all, but...
Squidley replied to rumboogy's topic in Watering Hole
I had the same grips on my '99 and I actually had the grip break between the rubber pads. They were ok but I wont buy the same kind again due to that happening on me. -

I know there are post pertaining to cold solder joints in the tech library. Sounds like you might need to look into that. 1 st things 1st if you are leary of the battery, change it. Also clean ALL the connections very well, the ground cable connects down on the engine on the right side by the waterpump. These bikes are very picky electrically and corrosion can make things go stupid. -
MAN That was cold blooded!.....but way too funny

Ok....Ok....Fine! I'll recieve Thank you all again, Freebird has always said you people are what makes VR.org the place it is. I could never argue that statement...especially now.

Ya know....I just got a PM from BongoBob about a front fairing he has and I responded by asking "how did you know I needed a G2 fairing"....now I know I didn't want to broadcast what was happening as I feel more than a bit guilty for accepting Chucks bike. What made it worse was that our neighbor gave me her husbands H/D which I didn't expect either. There are a few of you that know me, some quite well as I have made some lifelong friends here. I am a very proud man, to the point of it being a hinderance, and right now my ego and pride has been bruised in the fact that I am not in control of my life from loosing my job. When I come on here and talk with all of you I am very sincere with what I say. If I tell you that I'm going to do something then thats what I am going to do. I live by my word and my handshake is as good as any signed document. I never offer help to anyone with the expectation that there is a favor owed, I'm a pay it forward type guy. I have helped folks in the past, I have been a part of many secret projects that have happened on this site. I have been paid back more than I can ever hope to be able to pass on. I love this place, and many of you folks are very dear to me. Even after all the folks that want to help, I'm still not deserving in my eyes. So you'll have to excuse my macho "I'll do myself" mentality, it proves a hard thing for me to break. I'll be talking with some on the folks on the site about finding parts for this '99. I have inventoried what I have and I will need other things. I want to thank Chuck (Moose) for his generosity, he is one of the best people I know, and I'm very proud to call he and his wife Cindi my friends. I appreciate all the responces and we'll see what we can come up with....Thank you all again and especially Chuck for being who he is

Al, Take good care of her and your both in our thoughts. If there is ANYTHING we can do from this side of the pond, please don't hesitate to ask us.

Sorry that you had to put him down, I know we talked about it last night. Never easy to loose anything that you have had for such a long time...all the best my friends.

Thanks for all the thoughts an well wishes folks. Many of you know me, I'm a glass half full type of guy. I know God has a plan, even if it seems like it's not going our way, it's going his way. If I had gotten a job down in Texas there is no way that we would be here, so things do work in the way they are supposed to. My Dad is quite happy as we will be here longer and he wont have to be concerned about his recovery. I'm just going with the flow and will follow the direction that seems the best to go with....I just wish it wasn't so damn cold up here right now! Thanks again and I'll keep Y'all updated on the progress

We tried.... But just got too late a start from Illinois and couldn't get there early enough to catch you folks We did manage to catch up with Brad and Rhonda Tuckett and chatted for about an hour or so at my Dads house in Roseville. Sorry we missed you all and hopefully we'll be able to catch up with some of you before we head back down to some HEAT!

Your a good man for trying something different...but I'm not diggin' the new way, I'm with the majority and like the old way better. Let it run for a few days so the others can comment on it, but it seems a bit more of a hassel as far as my use of it

....but it seems that my "Family" aka my Dad has other plans. As many of you know Lonna and I came north for the holidays and to spend some time with family and friends. We have had an awsome time as we have gotten to see many of our riding buddies along the route. My Dad has been needing to get his hip replaced for quite a while now as he walks with a very bad limp. He finally is in a position to be able to take the time off work and is having his complete ball and socket replaced on Wednesday the 6th. Only catch is, he has to have someone here at the house to be able to help him around and do the household chores and help him with getting around. Sooooo Lonna and I have decided to stay here so he doesn't have to go into a nursing home after the surgery. The sacrifises I make for him, either I'm incredibly stupid, or I love the big dummy a lot....probably the latter So I'll be up here with the northern bretheren, freezing my patooties off so Dad doesn't have to go into the nursing home. We'll see all the Texans in about 3 weeks (I hope) and I'm looking forward to getting on the VR and going for a nice long ride

Great pics!....Stud Muffin, yeah right!

They still command a high price as they were only made for 5 years. They have a cult following just like our Ventures and the guys that have owned them, for the majority, love the bikes. I was actually wanting to test ride one as I have heard lots of good things about them. They are super fast for a touring bike and will give any of the Ventures a good run. His price is only high due to it being winter, that bike would go for right at that amount during riding season. I watches several earlier in the year go for that price
