  1. I always call before I leave, if I can't get ahold of them and it's a long haul, better to not waste that time. I have to say that many folks do not appreciate others time. Not really any recourse you have, you can ask for them to deliver, but I wouldn't be holding my breath....
  2. Good to hear that old buggar is out and about!
  3. I have used Avon Venoms for a long time and been very happy with them. I have a set of Michelin Commander II's I'm going to put on my '02 Midnight and see how they are. I have run the smaller front and they are ok, but I like the size that came on the bike from the the factory 150 vs 130. E3's are a decent tire, but like some others I don't care for any Dunlops in the rain. I have also ran Shinko's on 1st gens and although they wear quicker than others, they stick like glue and are quite inexpensive as bike tires go.
  4. Unfortunately we wont be able to make it this year. We will be in Michigan for 2 weddings that weekend. As always thank you for always making this happen Lew, I dont think St. Judes knows what a confidant they have with you.
  5. Dave, I have a spare one in decent shape if your interested. PM me if you'd like some more info on it.
  6. Sad day indeed, all the best to the family left behind
  7. Happy Birthday Bobby!!
  8. Hey Y'all, It's been a while since I have been on and posting, life has gotten extremely busy with the household. Some of you know that I belong to my local VFW here in Cleveland. I was actually elected Senior Vice Commander of the post, which is taking a lot of my time....but I digress. One of the Ladies Auxiliary members has asked me to help her with a pet project that she's been doing. She, and several others, have been adopting units overseas and sending them care packages. The unit that she has been assisting now will be rotating out and she wants to continue with this. What I need from y'all is if you have family members just starting a tour or fixing to be heading overseas, to see if they would like to participate in this. What she explained to me of what is required, so to speak, is this: The unit needs to be under 75 people The total # of people needs to be broke down to men/women There needs to be 1 contact person of which whom she can directly correspond with. That person would not give their rank, just their name with an APO address This person would be in charge of receiving all packages. Also what their duration will be while overseas If anyone has a family member that would want to participate, please let me know here and I'll get them in contact with Caroline...appreciate y'all.
  9. Glad to hear that it's coming along Gary. Hoping to catch up with you when/if y'all are able to make it down to Texas this winter...all the best my friend.
  10. Nice job Heather, you and Rachel are getting to be good wrenches. I didn't have any doubts when you jumped into it
  11. That will make your butt pucker, glad you 2 are ok.
  12. I just bought the pictured bike below for $4200 with 55K on the clock with a decent amount of extra bling on it. I will mention this, that bike would have had to been completely tore down to paint it like it is. I have done this to a couple of RSV's and if you dont know what your doing putting it together can be ugly. Not saying it wasn't put back together properly, but you being a newbie (pardon the pun) would probably not know what to look at and if something looked wrong. As mentioned there are many early 2000's RSV's for sale that haven't been tampered with. My advise is to keep looking unless you can get that bike for a grand or less than what he's asking.... If you want to chat my number is in my profile.
  13. Wayne, just buy another stock Yamaha R/R I'm with Joe on it being the best option.

  21. FWIW Firestik is a great antenna, used them several times...
  22. I haven't had any issues with the 3 I have installed. They are a bit pricey, but seem to be durable as far as I can tell...
  23. I have said it before, I know 5 people personally that have had issues with the 880 metzler. Exactly what your tire did, throw a chink of rubber off. I will NEVER, ever again use a metzler for anything again. Not so much because of the tire issue, but how the majority of the folks were treated when they contacted metzler about it. I ran into a total stranger in a bike shop I frequented in Michigan that had a Harley bagger that an 880 did the same thing. I know folks like the tires and how they wore, but I'll never support the company ever again.... PS...I'm glad you and Tippy didn't have issues with that on the road my friend
  24. Puc, Can't tell you how glad I am that y'all had issues here in Texas. I love being part of this adventure you and Tippy are on. You and Tip are 2 of the most unique people I know and I'm honored to call you both my friends. Keep the stories coming brother, one day when I grow up I want to be just like you 2
  25. Boo and Jane and I'll hazard a guess that might be Arkansas
