For comfort and safety, 1st 3 things I would get for the bike would be the passing lights, Kuryakyn offset hwy pegs and backrest (Utopia or Diamond R). Then accessories that would be useful for touring like a trunk rack to hold an additional storage bag. Then safety chrome of your choice, if your doing your own maintenance on your bike Carbon One's lift adapter is a must have, I have 2 of them and use them all the time with my motorcycle jack....0.02

Brake rotors at JC Whitney
Squidley replied to dna9656's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
As a rule of thumb, when cheap and rotor are put together, it's not usually a marriage made in heaven. I can't comment on using them, but I am VERY skeptical that they would last very long. You could always volunteer to be the guinea pig and try them out with a follow up report... -

I have a base and lid from an RSV, you would have to get a trunk rack from an RSV to attach it to your RSTD. If your interested shoot me a PM.

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year...
Squidley replied to midnightrider1300's topic in Watering Hole
Right back at you! -
Something you may want to think about is if it's hooked up from the factory, it's not the best configuration. I have always run a dedicated wire through a relay to power the passing lights. There are several threads in the forum on doing this. I do agree with others that a bad ground could be your culprit.

Jerry has been with us from the start and always was willing to help anyone. I remember he and Jane fondly as I was fortunate enough to spend a couple rally's in his company. It's so hard knowing he is gone, life has become a little darker for our loss....God Speed Jerry, you will be missed.

Squidley was given to me about 30 years ago when I came home on leave from the Navy. My best friend saw me and stated "Squidley James" and it was just shortened to Squidley. I have run it for many many years and these days it's a badge of honor to have served in the worlds finest Navy.

Y'all are amazing, I can't Thank everyone enough for thinking of Lonna and I this way. Please know that we are very humbled by all of your generosity.

Thank You... To folks that give of themselves freely and without reservation. Who don't look for something in return and genuinely give to their fellow man? As some of you folks know, unbeknownst to Lonna or Myself, y'all decided to secretly raise funds for us. I'm not the kind of person who openly lets my troubles known. Times are a bit tight right now as we have Lonna's son and his family with us. Me having kidney stones doesn't help either with the surgeries, but I wasn't greatly worried as I have walked this walk before. Then I find out this morning of y'all's plan, and was very humbled. Before anything else....Thank You from the bottom of our hearts for thinking of us and wanting to help us. Even though we are the reason for this, and blessed beyond our wildest dreams, it is all of you that prove who is truly blessed, and it is all of you. This time of year we look to give to others, and help those in need. This tells of our character and leading by example, which you folks have. My Grandfathers instilled in me probably the most important things that I know. Both were pay it forward type men, and always told me to do that when I could. I have had many great teachers, my Mother and both Fathers who told me to stick to my guns and accept responsibilities and actions if you screw up. I try very hard to live up to my parents and grandparents lessons. Karma, is a 2 sided sword, good will come back ten fold, bad will come back even worse. God has always provided for me and my family, and this is no exception. All of you should be very proud of yourselves, it's easy to just look the other way. It's helping when you can that defines you. I am very proud to know all of you, you folks let me know that what comes around goes around. We will never forget what you have done for us this year. Y'all are giving our children a great lesson of the season and showing them 1st hand that surrounding yourself with good like minded people is a good thing. Thank you all so much for helping us, as always, the door is open at this house here in Cleveland Texas.

Ok folks, I have a question for those of you that have the Dyna 3k on your G2. I found out that the 02 I purchased has one. It's the older one with the switches on the back of it that you use to adjust the rpm's and advance curve. If y'all could chime in and let me know where you keep your advance at I would appreciate it. It was set at an 8 degree advance if Im reading this thing right. Give me you inputs and why you feel your happy with where yours is set...appreciate y'all.
