  2. Still acclimating to Texas, looks like we decided to come down during one of the coldest winters in recent history and now whats looking to be one of the hottest summers if it keeps up this way ....but I still wouldn't trade it for nuttin!

  4. Not to be a smart alec, but does it indicate that you have to install acid in it? The reason I mention this is all the lead acid batteries I have ever bought have had the acid with them

  6. Unless you have something together wrong in the clutch pack, you still have an air issue. Clutches are a pain to do as you think you have all the air out, but might not. Curious to know, did you use a brake bleeder like a mighty vac to change out the fluid? There is also the possibility that the master cylinder could need rebuilding. If you haven't used a vac bleed system you might want to give that a shot.

  12. Thats exactly how I used to do tires when I managed a tire store, like you mentioned, shoves more air in faster.

  15. I have heard other Darksiders talk about setting the tire out in the sun and letting it heat up and expand. Also too the rim needs to be spotless, clean enough to eat off, and lots of lube. If it doesn't go on break it down and do it again.
  16. Dan, When I was a younger lad I might have attempted that steak, but not now I have seen the place on the food channel and it looks interesting, were making it a point to go there to eat. I have been really good at limiting my food intake, actually loosing a few inches lately
  17. I have always used oem Yamaha fork seals when I have replaced any, that what I suggest. As far as doing the progressives...yes, do it, your talking about springs that are 21 years old and they should be replaced.

  23. Dave, Nice pics! I was going to text you and see how the trip home was, but I see you made it with no issues. Glenn, The bearings are pretty standard, they are measured by race size and the shaft they are fitting on. With the cheaper bearing that are installed in the H/F trailers, you have to stay right on top of keeping them maintained and greased regularly. Brian, The trailer is the one from H/F it's a kit and we assembled it at Daves place about 10 days ago. I have to say that if I was going to do another trailer, I would just buy that one. For the price and aggrivation factor of making one from just a trailer kit and then trying to install a car topper on it, this one is way simpler Oh and Gumbo....we have pics of you with a MUCH bigger hammer on a Venture
  24. I have run the 130 on my 2nd '99 and I found that at certain times a good cross wind will blow the bike around more. My personal set up, that worked best for me as far as feel and performance has been the level links and the stock 150 size front tire. You get the same effect as the 130 tire as far as numbleness, but have more meat on the front tire to handle wind a bit better. This was my experience with running across the country with a 130 on the front through some wind prone states. I notice your in Montgomery, there's quite a few of us in the greater Houston area. Hopefully we'll get hooked up with you at an event soon
  25. Travelcade is an aftermarket seat company that made seats for the Venture back in the day. They are a pretty nice seat, I have a spare one that needs recovering and it also has a built in backrest which is nice.
