It's really pretty strait forward, you will need to put the bike up on a lift. A Carbon One lift adapter will work, you'll just have to finagle the bolt out, but it can be done as I have done it this way. You can get to the top bolts by removing the saddlebags and the battery side covers. If memory serves me right the upper nut and bolt is a 17 or 19 mm the lower bolts are 17 mm. Jack the bike up in the air and break the bolts loose. I used a car floor jack under the rear tire to take some of the weight off the assembly, not much just slightly so to move the bolt out. Make sure you remove the schrader valve retaining nut so it will slide out of it's frame mount. Once all the bolts are removed it will pretty darn near fall out. Put it back together in reverse order, the torque on the upper bolt is 43 ft lbs the lower dog bone bolts are 36 ft lbs. If you have any issues my number is in my profile, just call and I can walk you right through it.

Dan, What exactly are you looking to do with the lights. The reason I ask this is 2 fold, 1 are you wanting extra light to see the road, 2 just something inexpensive to put out more light to be seen. If your wanting a better view of the road spend some money and invest in a good pair of driving lights that go up by the headlight, like on the factory light bar. The cheaper walmart ones will last a little while, but there is no quality to them so to speak. I have had them and can say this from experience. I just purchased a pair of lights for my RSV that are LED's and are outstanding. I sent a text to him at 7:39 our time and 10 minutes later he texted back and said "Bike is push started" So I'll assume that since he hasn't answered my return text that he's rolling.

Dan, I like to believe that a majority of the people on this site that call each other brother and sister, mean exactly that. When I call you my brother it means I will help you whenever I can, especially when it's a time of crisis. I can't tell you how many folks have helped Lonna and I over the years here, and paying it forward is just 1 way that I try very hard to be a brother to all. There is plenty of room on the property to park the 5th wheel and we can hook you up to power. You can explore this portion of the state and stay as long as you wish. Have fun and if you can't decide where to go, flip a coin, some of Lonna's and my best trips were decided by heads or tails.

On the stator cover you have to drain it all, otherwise when you pull the cover, it's all going to come out regardless.

I hosted the '07 International Rally in Ft. Collins and there were some awesome roads in that area. Estes Park was worth the ride as the Stanley Hotel (where they filmed the Shining) is there. I dont think you can go wrong anywhere you travel in Colorado.
