  1. Jon, On the 1st gens there are 2 sealing points for the thermostat. The 1st one is internal and slides over the lip of the thermostat itself the 2nd is an O-ring that seals the cover to the housing. I would replace both of them with new ones so you dont have any issues. as far as the "New" part to the old, as long as one is the O-ring and the other slides over the stat lip then your good.
  2. Nice insight Tom, and I couldn't agree with you more. Don and I have talked before on just what you mentioned, this site has surpassed his wildest imagination. I too have made many, what I hope, lifelong friends...you and Vic are a part of that. This place is like Karma, you recieve more than you give, atleast that is how it's been for myself and Lonna. We wouldn't be where we are if it wasn't for several of the members down here in Texas. I pass your wishes right back to you both, and I look forward to seeing you 2 again next year
  3. Thanks Folks
  4. Happy Belated Birthday my friend!!
  5. Thank you Annie, may Alan and your 2011 be your best ever....looking forward to having you both stateside
  6. Sad news indeed
  7. Yes I do know I left myself wide open with that statement I'm getting to the point where I want to start looking at putting some time in on the '99. What I need from you folks here is this, I want to locate a smashed 2nd Gen, I dont care about the plastic. It obviously cant look like a pretzel, but I need the hardware off the bike and perhaps some of the sub assembly framework. I will go crazy trying to nickle and dime find all this stuff so I'd like to purchase a complete wrecked bike. I will be watching Crashed Toys and other such sites, but if you could pass on info if you see a wrecked RSV in your local Craigslist or any other listings I would really appreciate it.
  8. There are a couple of things it could be Brian. My phone is always on and once you can get a better look at it we'll narrow it down
  9. Heres the link Fellas.... http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2919&title=several-accessories-for-sale&cat=7
  10. Brian, A little more specifics would help, where exactly is the water coming from? Front or back of the bike and have you done any maintenance to the bike related to cooling systems parts like hoses or drain plugs? Just trying to narrow it down a bit, if you could take a pic of where it's coming out from we can try to help you trouble shoot it. My cell # is in my profile, give me a call and we can chat a bit.
  11. Lonna and I were married up at Tahquamenon Falls in '97 and stayed in Paradise. The Great Lakes Shipwreck museum at Whitefish point is a cool place to see. They have the Edmund Fitzgerald's bell in it. I agree with Carl, the falls are a must see and you have to eat at the brewery near the upper falls if memory serves me right. Another thing too is go and see the Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie, thats another cool thing to witness.
  12. Your planning on going to Cody for the international and cruise the west coast of the USA and Canada all the way up to Alaska....ok now hows that!
