  4. Hey! I knows some of those peoples Nice job Karl, looks like you had a good get together and I know there will be more in the future. Good to recognize some of those faces
  5. Dave, As Jeff mentioned engine upgrades will be expensive. I know of a few 2nd gen Royal Stars that have gone to the expense of installing Vmax cams in their engines, but thats not cheap. Depending on how your shifting, you might not be getting the most out of the engine. These bikes like high revs, the factory rev limiter is at about 6500 rpms. This can be changed with the install of a Dana 3000 ignition which will allow you to raise the rev limiter to 7500 rpms and advance the timing curves. Depending upon how you ride the bike and if you'll be pulling a trailer a Vmax or FJR 1300 rearend will give you a bit more off the line performance. Making absolute sure that the carbs are set up properly and tuned right will make a big difference. Just a couple things to think about before you start jumping into the engine
  6. 5 foot nothing, Red haired, fiery and feisty as a cornered Badger! She needs all the adult supervision she can get. Muffinman gave up years ago knowing it was a lost cause. She is a devious little devil originally from NY, but now painted up as a sweet southern girl from NC on the outside. As mischievous as Curious George and ALWAYS stirring the pot. I think we need to duct tape her to a chair at MD with armed guards watching her! This sort of comes close to an accurate description of our little angel Mini

  19. Mike, So sorry to hear of your mothers passing, knowing that she is not in pain or suffering any more is of hopefully some comfort. I'll pass this poem on to you as I believe it is very appropriate and try to hold it's words as a mantra when I think of loved ones that have passed. All the best to you and your family, and remember we are he for an ear to bend should you be inclined to do so.... Irish Tombstone Prayer Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room. Whatever we were to eachother, that we are still Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used to. Laugh as we always laughed together. Play, Smile, Think of me, Pray for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was, let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was, there is absolutely unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well, nothing is past, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before...Only better, infinitely happier and forever we will all be one together with Christ

  23. When I was young, 7 or 8, I was aware of my Grandfather (mother side) and his Harley. He rode in all weather year round (He lived in Michigan) and my other Grandfather on my Dads side also rode when he got out of the Army after WWII. My Dad also had some bikes, had a Triumph 650 Bonneville Chopper, very long rake front forks. I have been around bikes all my life and started off on mini bikes and moved up to dirt bikes. So it started at a young age with me, I'll have to see if I can dig up some pics of them
  24. I'm with Don 100% on his statement, if your going to do any amount of traveling being comfortable is the most important
