Habib, I always appreciate when members here grab the bull by the horns and make things happen. I have been fortunate enough to be able to ride a few miles with you and I have enjoyed that immensely. I understand the busy thing, I want to host more M&E here in Texas, but I, Like you, dont have enough time to go around. Thank you again for all your efforts and hard work with making it as successful as it has been. Good luck in your endeavors

New Idea for Air Filters
Squidley replied to dlhoulton's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
That protects it nice maybe a bit of brainstorming and you could fabricate a chrome piece to cover that pvc -
Mike, So sorry to hear of your mothers passing, knowing that she is not in pain or suffering any more is of hopefully some comfort. I'll pass this poem on to you as I believe it is very appropriate and try to hold it's words as a mantra when I think of loved ones that have passed. All the best to you and your family, and remember we are he for an ear to bend should you be inclined to do so.... Irish Tombstone Prayer Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room. Whatever we were to eachother, that we are still Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used to. Laugh as we always laughed together. Play, Smile, Think of me, Pray for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was, let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was, there is absolutely unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well, nothing is past, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before...Only better, infinitely happier and forever we will all be one together with Christ

New Idea for Air Filters
Squidley replied to dlhoulton's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Ray, Have you thought about simply turning the 45 degree angle forward to protect the filter better? -
When I was young, 7 or 8, I was aware of my Grandfather (mother side) and his Harley. He rode in all weather year round (He lived in Michigan) and my other Grandfather on my Dads side also rode when he got out of the Army after WWII. My Dad also had some bikes, had a Triumph 650 Bonneville Chopper, very long rake front forks. I have been around bikes all my life and started off on mini bikes and moved up to dirt bikes. So it started at a young age with me, I'll have to see if I can dig up some pics of them

I'm with Don 100% on his statement, if your going to do any amount of traveling being comfortable is the most important

Rick, The only responce I have for you is BE PREPARED you will have members come out of the woodwork! Ask Giga Whiskey what happened when he hosted a MD BBQ at his place in North Texas I will mention this also, put out a tip jar. I know a lot of folks dont like to do that, but I make it a point if we go to someones house thats hosting a get together I throw some greenbacks in. Make it a pot luck too, bring a dish to pass and perhaps you supply the main course meat. Try not to over engineer it, set a date and a Time/Place and let it run it's course. Trust me on that one....BTW when are we coming over??
-
Now thats funny innocent...yeah right
-
Not to worry Annie, I may just have the '79 Electra Glide at MD and/or Cody....you wont be the only H/D

About the only shows I really watch on TV are Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, and Criminal Minds. I do like the idea of the hockey players and figure skaters though.

Mike, It's unfortunate hearing of your wifes issues, I sincerely hope they get it figured out. As far as getting rid of the RSV, it happens. I have sold a few due to extenuating circumstances and have ended up with another one at some point. take care of Momma and know that we dont care what you ride. This website surpassed being a tech forum a long time ago, this is a family of bikers who just happen to ride predominantly Yamaha Ventures. If you need anything let us know, there are many here that are a good ear. God will steer you in the direction you need to be, we'll be here regardless.

Rob, Sorry to hear of your situation, but other here have sent the same sentiment that I share. Life doesn't always work how we would like, but it WILL get better. Beaumont is about 100 miles East of Lonna and myself as were just north of Houston in the Conroe area. As it is with all VR members, the door is open and your more than welcome to shoot over this way. If you need some nice riding to clear your head I know of a few roads that will cure that itch. Phone # is in the profile and if you decide to stay down here, we'll be looking forward to seeing you more often
