  1. Curtis, That is a fairly involved job, and there is going to be a lot going on there. It's doable, but make sure you have all the tools you need with you and start early in case you run into troubles.
  2. Glad we could run away from work for a little while. As always it's great seeing you, even if it's for a short time, we'll work on heading West and visit with you folks soon
  3. Fuzzy, Any good quality (Peak, Prestone) will work, just the simple green antifreeze will work. I know some folks mention the 50/50 mix, my logic on that is your paying the same money for half water. Get a gallon of the full strength and mix it with distilled water, I hate giving folks money that they dont need and or deserve. Regular antifreeze is compatable with aluminum engines as many of the cars made in the last decade have at minimum aluminum heads and some have aluminum blocks. KISS keep it stupid simple and you'll be fine
  4. Thats a good question Lew, hope everything is alright with him. You never know with that goof 3-13-2011 was his last check in here....I do hope he's ok....
  5. It's a 2 cycle and runs like a scalded cat, you would be amazed at how quick that little 350 is. That one is in good shape too
  6. Happy Birthday Jack!!
  7. Glad you got it figured out
  8. Dot 3 and 4 are compatable with eachother, the synthetic has a slightly higher boiling point....your fine.
  9. Would it stop you if he said no
  10. Look at a RAM mount and put it on the handlebar with an extension to get it up high. http://www.ram-mount.com/
  11. Happy Birthday Buddy!!!
  12. Insure that the clutch slave is working properly and the fluid is good. I would actually bleed it 1st if you haven't had that done in a few years as the fluid will more than likely need to be replaced.
  13. That is the most smoked clutch assembly I have ever seen in a Venture Jeff is a great guy and you couldn't have asked for a better member to help you out. I was very glad that you got it home in 1 piece. I keep a clutch assembly here at the house for just such an emergency, you never know when a brother will need it. Nice work to everybody involved
  14. Nice work JJ! Glad that things worked out for the better, I can only imagine the pucker factor being a few hundred miles away from home and have a dead bike.
  15. I think he's good Jeff, I talked with him on the phone a couple of hours ago and did a quick walk through on what to do and look for. He had it apart when he talked with me.
  16. Just talked with Greg, if there is anyone that has a stock spring that they replaced on their G2 in that area please give him a call. We discussed him sanding the steels and installing a 2nd stock spring on his bike, this would do the trick. Give him a call asap if you have a spring for this bike....thanks. Note a 1st gen spring from a MKII '86 to '93 will also work on this bike.
  17. Dingy is such a brown noser!!!
  18. Did you break your right wrist Forrest??
  19. You obviously haven't had any of Lonna's biscuits and gravy....and probably wont after she reads this
  20. Nice work Zipcode, your becoming quite the Venture/Tour Deluxe mechanic
  21. It was an '06 pulling a trailer, lets hope it wasn't a member here, bad enough it was a fellow biker.
