  1. It seems I am on the list now too, I pulled the '86 I just bought down to the frame and pulled the TCI for relocation on the airbox and decided to pull the boost sensor also. Well it doesn't hold a vacuum and has a hole in the case. If anyone has another boost sensor I'd love to chat with you...
  2. All the best to you Mike and here's hoping for a quick recovery.
  3. Cool Beans, best of luck to them both!
  4. Best of sucess with your operation Bob, I hope it gives you the relief you need
  5. We can also take the set off the '99 in the corner and do them
  6. I never do unless there is a problem detected. The hard stem valves will last forever.
  7. JM, Goose brings up good points, he and I dont always agree but I value his judgment as he has time to test products out more than I. The one bike I mentioned didn't have a rubbing issue, but that could have just been a fluke of luck. Now something Goose and I agree upon is Avon Venom tires, I love them and although some folks have had isolated incidents on sidewall cracks, I have never had issues with them. If your looking to get out of the E3's due to your wet handling experience I would definitely recommend you try the Avons
  8. Hell you dun hillbillyfied him! a helmet and bare feet!!
  9. You just didn't try hard enough Good talking with you yesterday
  10. Fuzzy, When Seafoam hit the roof in price I quit using it. I have used B12 for many years now and I have used it in the bikes to help clean the fuel systems. Now I dont have hard crunched data with MPG or any such thing, I dont have time to do that. Do I notice a difference in most the times I have used it, yes it appears that it does make things run better. This is just my personal opinion FWIW, your results may vary
  11. Thanks Buddy!
  12. I can always count on my brothers to keep me grounded...or atleast stomp me in the ground
  13. Welcome back to the USA Jonas! and we hope you enjoy our country Greta
  14. Here is what I have dug up so far http://www.jpcycles.com/product/3300730 I believe that these are the right sized ones, they are cheap enough so I will probably just pull the trigger and get a couple of them and see. If so I'll come back on and let others know as I'm sure there are members that would like to replace the faded ones they have.....Thanks for the fast responses fellas
  15. I haven't been able to find any specific info about the red lens covers that are on the aftermarket chrome trunk wraparound on this '86 I picked up. I'm not sure if they were made by Barons or not, but I think they are. Any of you 1st genners have some info on where to get some new red lenses?
  16. JM, It can be done, I have seen an '07 RSV with that tire on the rear of the bike. I will caution you that the Metzler 880 has a bad track record of throwing rubber chunks off. Obviously pay close attention to the clearances should you install one and your going to have to keep the tire pressure maxed out so you dont get any bulging of the sidewalls as they could rub.
  17. Good on him, he's starting to grow more and hopefully releases the mistakes he made early on....BTW you CAN'T deny that kid isn't yours
  18. Sounds to me like you have some tuning issues. I dont know how long you have owned the bike or of the maintenance of it before you acquired it, but you might want to consider a complete tuneup. Replacing the plugs caps and wires would be a good start. Also a bit of seafoam in the gas tank wouldn't hurt either, also a carb sync. Let us know a bit of the bikes history and we can get you pointed in the right direction....
  19. Scott, I would definitely be interested in that set, PM me what your looking for them and we'll make it happen. Bobo, I think if it works out I'll be getting those, lets hold off on the set you have for right now...thanks for thinking of me buddy:thumbsup2:
  20. Glad to hear your back home, it was good talking with you at MD.
  21. A couple of items for the '86 I just picked up. The chrome side covers that sit beside the radiator cover (the triangle ones) and the lower center chrome piece that sits between the bottom of the saddle bags. If any of you 1st genners have these in decent condition let me kn ow as I would rather give my money to one of our own rather than a faceless ebay seller (although I'm sure they are nice folks too)
  22. Terry, Very glad that it's you here telling the story, I have done that dance at 70 mph and was lucky for the wife and I to walk away from it. Sorry to hear about the bike, but any crash you can walk away from is a good thing....all the best mate.
  23. Sad news, all the best to his family
  24. Just to fill you in, DO NOT USE electrosport! I had issues with them about 3 years ago on a '99 I had, they are a bunch of sheisters. If your going to replace the regulator, go back with a stock one, thats what I did on my '99 at the time and the issue was solved.
