I run a 10w30 in the winter here in Texas and 10w40 in the summer.

As long as it's not an energy conserving oil, synthetic or conventional. I run 10w30 Mobil one in my RSV. I have run the Shell Rotella in several Ventures I've owned. 20w50 is a little heavy imo in any Venture. I do a 10w30 in the colder months and 10w40 in the Texas summer.

That's the ride she'll remember all her life. I remember when I took my 70 year old aunt for her 1st ride on the back of my RSV. She loved it!

About 12 years or so ago, the members helped purchase a bike for one of our members who fell on hard times. The bike was purchased in Missouri and then a trailer relay started. It went from Missouri to Indiana, then Indiana to Michigan at my house where I went through the bike before it was given to the member. We have done that on other occasions as well.

Hey Ken, You might want to try posting your question in the watering hole. It will get more attention there.

I'm starting to look for my next bike. I'm more than likely not going to stay with a Venture as I think they totally screwed the pooch with the new TC being air cooled. I have consistently been drawn to the F6B Goldwing for the performance aspect of it. I still want to be on a big bike with some of the creature comforts. Lonna and I will not be doing the marathon touring anylonger as her back is just not going to handle long trips on the bike anymore. I want to get back into a little more spirited riding being solo most the time on the bike. The question I have for y'all is this, who has had some 1st hand experience riding an F6B Wing? I'd like to get an idea from others before I start getting serious on finding one. So what say ye, anybody have some stories to tell?

I need one of those!

Larry, I've been using a good quality wheel bearing on the Ventures I've owned for over 15 years. Some of the guys add moly to it, but good high pressure wheel bearing grease has never let me down.

Hey Tyler! Good to have an out of the box thinker with us. You might want to search out one of our members, Zagger, as he had customized an older Venture if memory serves me correctly. Unfortunately Zagger has left to be with the Lord, but I believe there is some articles he did on the site. Looking forward to see what progress you make on your bike.

I have also seen where the output shaft of the engine has snapped. The bike still drove, but made an awful racket. That would require the muddle geat and output shaft to be removed...0.02

I've never heard that song before Puc, thank you for posting it brother!

I'll add this from owning 4 1st gens, one being an 84 MKI. When they are proper tuned, they should scare the crap out of you with how quick they are for a touring bike. I'd love to another 1200 for just my around town running around bike.

Thank you brother, same to you and your family.

Isaiah 9:6 6) For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Micah 5:2 2) “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.” Luke 1:30-31 The angel Gabriel speaking to Mary of her conception 30) Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31) And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. John 3:16-17 Jesus speaking to Nicodemus 16) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17) For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Y'all Ya'all can help out, if you are of such a mind
Squidley replied to Marcarl's topic in Watering Hole
Lord, we humbly come before you and ask for your blessing for Dorthea and the new valve you have made available to her. Lord we ask for you, the great physician to guide the hands of those who will assist you in this. We also pray for peace over the entire Norg family during this time of healing. We pray all this in your son's name, amen! -
Took off from the house in 37 degrees and rode the midnight to work, was a great sunrise 🌅

An update on Earl, he is home! He got home yesterday and is recovering. I received a text stating his thanks and the text sounded upbeat. Keep praying, he still has a tough recovery, but it's looking promising 👍

Battery Charger/Tender
Squidley replied to jdross440's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
John, That charger will work fine. It has a float setting so once the voltage is topped off in the battery it will only pulse it occasionally to keep it topped off. -
The 880 Metzler were the ones that were delaminating. I don't think they sell them anymore as I believe it was replaced with the 888? I'm a big fan of Shinko's and am currently running the 777s on my 02. I have run them on the 1st gens I've owned as well.

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. We are here for however you need us.
