Glad to hear he's ok. Did the car stop?

Glad to hear he is improving! You gotta watch those Doctors. Several years back, my Grandmother was in the hospital, and they said she didn't have much time left, so we should see her before she goes. I drive up there (Owensboro, Ky), and when I see her, she doesn't even recognize me, she is in such bad shape. I talked to the Doctor, and he gave me one story, while the Nurse gave me a completely different story. I was very suspicious of the things they were telling me, so I called in the Ky State Police to investigate. Guess what? She miraculously recovered and went home 2 days later. She lived another 10 years after that. Turns out, they were drugging her to keep her in the hospital, and milk her Medicare for all they could get. I don't trust Doctors for squat. Glad to see he has a fighting spirit!

Yup, and it looks like the Hendersons were all parallel 4-cylinder engines. I don't believe it's a Henderson either...way too new.

I hadly ever use the rear brake, even for hard stops. I would say I'm probably 90% front and 10% rear. I ride 40 miles to work every morning, and I have to CONSTANTLY watch out for deer. The ones that worry me, come out of the trees, jump the road, and are back in the trees on the other side in like 1-2 seconds. They never even hesitate or look, they are running full speed. Last year, on Fathers' Day, a guy from my work was riding home on his Harley, and a deer jumped out and knocked him off the bike in mid air. The bike hit him in the side, so he never even saw it. It took him clean off the bike, and into the path of an oncoming car, which killed him. The bike just kept rolling until it lost momentum and fell over. There was hardly a scratch on it. JUst shows you, you can't see them all. I saw one a few weeks ago that flew across the road about 75 yards in front of me, and I think it took it about a second to get from treeline to treeline.....very scary.

One last rally plug - for those proscratinating
Monty replied to Cinderella's topic in Watering Hole
I really wish I could go. It's not to far away from me, but it's during the week, and since I am on a new job, and in class, I can't take off yet. Now...next year will be a different story. I will be in class until next April, so only short weekend trips are available for me right now. Have fun, and drink a few for me. I went there years ago as a kid, when it was Dogpatch USA. I remember we had to ride a trolley down to get in and out of that place, but there was a road coming in the back way, because they did a show with the Dukes of Hazzard cast. -
Don't worry about it. We are all TRYING to behave...lol Life comes first. Just try to rest when you can, and be thankful you're working. As for being tired, I know how you feel. I think it's just age, and maybe a little out of shape.

Hoping he recovers real soon. He is in our thoughts here.

How 'bout that resume?

Be careful and have a safe trip. When you get there, let us know of anything you might need or want. I'm sure I can fix you up some care packages. Patrick

The Law Enforcement Safety Act of 2004, allows an Officer or Qualified retired Officer to carry a weapon ANYWHERE in the United States. Individual States cannot prevent an Officer from carrying. [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_Enforcement_Officers_Safety_Act[/ame] I remember this one, because I was an Officer when it was passed.

Brad, I knew you were ready to come down here. I guess it just got bumped up a bit. Send me your resume paytons42000@yahoo.com , and I'll walk it up to HR tomorrow, and see if we have something. You would love TVA. Patrick

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence.. He said, 'You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. But It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound will still be there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Remember that friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us.'

Need help with battery problem
Monty replied to ediddy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
unhook the negative cable. Attach the positive lead of the meter to the cable end. Attach the negative lead of the meter to the battery post. That way, current flows from the negative post, thru the meter, and back thru the negative cable, thru the bike, and to the batterys' positive post. -
Need help with battery problem
Monty replied to ediddy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Make sure everything is off, then disconnect the negative side of the battery. Next, connect a test light in series from the unhooked cable, and the battery post. This is with the key off. Does the test light...light up? If so, you have something draining the battery(called residual drain). Try pulling one fuse at a time, until the light maybe goes out. If it does, then your drain is associated with a circuit that fuse is protecting. I would start with the mic mute fuse, if there is one. -

I need an exhaust chamber for a first gen, if anyone has one they'd sell me. -

Just look at them both and you will see. I used to work for them, and I've seen most of the competitions' lifts. The Pitbull is the strongest lift on the market. I have built several, and I know the pains they take to make sure it's built right. Lifetime warranty too.
-
So, it's fixed now huh? Good deal.
-
Well, since it looks like I might not find one today...under $400, I may take it to the shop tomorrow and see if he can rebuild it. I'm holding off on bidding until then.
-
Well, I just pulled my complete exhaust system off. The other side has a very small hole in it also. The material inside the chamber is all broke loose, and rattling around, too. I think I need to just replace the chamber. I found one on Ebay, but it has 3 days left. I see there is a complete exhaust system in our classifieds. I may have to break down and buy the whole setup, but I really don't need it all.

If it still feels sloppy with the engine off, then I would think it would have to be a mechanical/linkage issue, and not the pump, as the pump isn't turning with engine off.
