A true Hero....Salute!!! "Van Barfoot is presented with the Congressional Medal of Honor for valorous actions during World War II. Barfoot showed his mettle in Carano, Italy, where he single-handedly destroyed a set of German machine gun nests, killed eight enemy soldiers, took 17 prisoners and stared down a tank before destroying it and killing its crew — all in a single day. Exhausted by his herculean efforts, he still managed to move two of his wounded men 1,700 yards to safety."

Any small block Chevy should bolt right up...305, 307, 327, 350, 400SM. block. I would stick with a 350 if you find one. They are cheap also. Chevy 350s are the cheapest engines that there are to build.

It was really cold in Oklahoma too. Yes, they will both do their AIT in Ft Leonard Wood for Combat Enginner Training. I know what you mean about the surrounding areas. I was born on post there, and I have been back there for training also.

R.I.P. Sad to hear him go.

We just returned from Ft Sill, where my youngest just graduated from his Basic Training. He has moved on to Ft Leonard Wood now. It was a 10 hour drive for us, but well worth it. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/FT%20Sill/IMG_0235.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/FT%20Sill/Benji1.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/FT%20Sill/IMG_0242.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/FT%20Sill/IMG_0272.jpg My oldest, (the one who rides the GS850), is in week 2 of his Basic at Ft Sill, so we didn't get to see him while we were there. They were supposed to go at the same time, but he had to get his tattoos approved first, so that held him up. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/FT%20Sill/1120090437.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/FT%20Sill/Jared2.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/FT%20Sill/Jared1.jpg

I know one thing. It's a heck of a lot colder here in Oklahoma, than it was in Tennessee when I left this morning. This wind just bites right thru ya. I remember this place being sooooo much hotter. Of course, I was here from July thru October last time.

We are heading out to Ft. Sill Oklahoma today for my youngest son, Benji's graduation.http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/1126091322_01.jpg We are sooo proud of him. The older son, Jared, is on his second week at Ft. Sill.http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/1120090437.jpg We are very proud of him too. This should be an interesting 11 hour drive, as I just had a major tooth pulled yesterday...ouch. Mama will be doing most of the driving. Buddy, we may give you a call when we get out there. If time permits, I would like to meet you in person and look at your RSV. I'll have my laptop with me, so I can keep in touch, and yes Mini, I will get some more pics.

I love brats, cooked in beer...mmmm. If you just can't stand to eat anything cooked in alcohol, then you have that right. Just tell them, and if they don't comply, you can always spend your money elsewhere. I love the taste of beer, mostly the ambers and lagers. If a person can't drink with moderation, then they should stay away from it altogether. Myself, I love the taste, and just socializing with friends, but sometimes, I love to get plastered too.

That is no small feat. Tell him Congrats!! Also....Moms and Dads are supposed to brag on their young'ns.

Just come back home safe, and with all of your parts. Thank you for going!

Crown and Coke. LOL, I like it all, but I would have to say the deviled eggs.

Sorry to hear it.

Well, you just can't get the accurate simulations like 1946 with Xbox or PS3. There is a dumbed down version of it called IL-2 Birds of Prey for the two consoles, but it is no where near as historic or functional as the PC version. If you like arcadey flight games, then consoles are for you. SilvrT, yes, 1946 actually includes Pacific Fighters, as well as Several other games from the IL-2 series, all rolled into one. LOTS more planes and maps.

Lots of help right here. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/49310655 If you don't get it, PM me, and I'll try to help after I get home later. Gotta go work on my Dads' van.

Are they the ones with the built in sweatbands?
-
The newest version is 4.09m. It comes as 4.07, then 2 patches. You may want to check out this thread also. www.hyperfighter.sk is the good lobby to download to play online.
-
Are you downloading the actual 1946, or one of the other IL-2 Sturmoviks? 1946 is the latest, and is waaaaaay better than its' predecessors. There is a new one coming out soon, also. If you have problems installing it or playing it with Vista, let me know, and I will point you in the right direction. DO NOT install ANY games under program files in Vista. For game to work properly, you need to create a generic directory, such as c:/games. Program files is write-protected in Vista, so any changes you make will not stay(profiles, keymapping, etc...).

I am a gamer, and I prefer the PC. With a good PC, and video card, the games look just as good as they do on the consoles. I also use a big widescreen monitor. A game called "Grid" is the best looking driving game out...it looks like real video. I fly alot in a WWII simulator called "IL-2 Sturmovik 1946", and fly with people from all over the world. Having a keyboard, mouse or trackball, you have many more control options. I also own a joystick/throttle and rudder pedals. You can also buy a steering wheel and brake/gas setup for PC. Just my opinion.

You need to get this program www.superantispyware.com and run it while in safe mode.
-
Start computer, keep hitting F8 until menu comes up, choose safe mode and then run your programs in safe mode.

They won't be gun bunnies. I was, and did my basic and AIT there. They are just there for basic, then off to Ft. Leonard Wood for AIT. Both are Combat Engineers.
