Monty replied to MidlifeVenture's topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
We have gotten that same warning for at least the last 5 years now. -
My favorite. I call that a "tail-dragger" breakfast....hence the need for the nap...lol

Which spark plugs to use
Monty replied to Jethroish's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I run the resistor plugs, but I removed the resistors from my plug caps, and replaced them with copper wire. Starts and runs much better now. I have an '83. -
What do the letters stand for in the cycle names?
Monty replied to a1bummer's topic in Watering Hole
Mine is an '82 GS850GLZ. It is the same as an "L". The "G" model has a flat seat, a tank with flat sides to it, and a fiberglass rear fender, along with a painted front fender. The "L" model has the stepped seat, teardrop tank, and chrome fenders. The "Z" in mine denotes the year. Engines are exactly the same. -
Hung!!

LOL, I love those lovers' quarrels.

On a side note... I work for the government, but we are self-sustained, without the need for ANY tax dollars. We make our own money. I do have to submit to random drug tests though. I DO agree with your statement.

If we weren't busting each others' balls all of the time, this place could get quite boring. Stick around.

I would've thought you might blow a shoulder out, walking on your hands like that.

Mine is a 200 watt cd player, and it does just fine. You should have no problems, as long as the speakers can handle the wattage. I bought some better quality speakers, so that I can turn it up loud, and hear it without distortion while doing 65mph. I have a Sony Xplod, but not sure of the model number at the moment. I would go to the local pawn shops and see what can be had for a few bucks. I have bought two of these, because they are high quality, and they seem to have an excellent antenna booster. It picks up a station on just about every push of the tune button. Very good reception. I think I gave around $40 for each one at the pawn shop. EDIT: here it is new. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5148257 Mine has the MP3 capability too. There are a few different models.

Ummmm....the Benfold up above is #65, so they are beyond that. Arleigh Burke class destroyer. Since his pic is messed up, here it is... http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/05016517.jpg It is like the little brother of the mighty Ticonderoga class Aegis cruiser.

They were building the Arleigh Burke (DDG-51) right next to mine, in Bath, Maine. How many of those are they planning on building, or are they done?

need sounds on a stock venture 1200
Monty replied to breezelasbre73's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
I have a Sony cd player in the left door of my fairing, and some after market speakers behind the grills. Sounds pretty good, but you can't really play a cd when you're moving...it skips. My cd player does have a plug-in, in the front, to add an MP3 player though. -
You might wanna put it where you want it before you put it together, otherwise you'll be in the same boat when you try to move it.

It looks like several of us were Fire Controlmen. Tomahawk and Harpoon here. If memory serves me correctly, the Spiegel Grove was sitting in Norfolk, and we did our S.S.E.T. onboard her, using paintball guns. I remember the equipment in the bridge was covered with tarps to keep them clean until we got finished.

We are up to 7 so far today.

My ex-stepdad was a Corpsman on there at that time. He told me about treating those guys, and he had lotsa pics.

When I was mess-cranking, I did the exact same thing, and the Senior Chief whose mug I washed gave me a serious butt chewin' too.

Unless he is like me, and has system restore disabled, because it is such a resource hog. I have never had it enabled.

What do you mean it won't let you uninstall any of the drivers? What does it tell you? You should be able to uninstall any drivers you want....unless you have a very tricky virus.

Buddy lives in Oklahoma, not Virginia. You can fill out a "dream sheet" which shows your location preferences. That doesn't mean you'll get what you want, but it usually helps. Also, Parris Island might have had full classes at the time he was supposed to begin his training, so he went West. There are a number of reasons for it.

It doesn't say, but I wonder if they had cut him off, or endangered him in some way earlier. Or.....he may have just been a nutcase.
