Also, I have the Ram mount with the bigger size ball if anyone needs one. I don't know which GPS Buddy had, but the ball is way too big for my 205W. If anyone wants it, let me know.

Need a bit of help
Monty replied to Jason's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Drain all the gas out and replace it with fresh. No sea Foam, either, until we get this figured out. -
I just got mine in today. I have a Garmin Nuvi 205W.(I know, I'm cheap). It cost less than $10, and I ordered it from Amazon.com. The company is www.chargercity.com. Part # is 16765819973122. It also fits the 255w. Here it is. http://www.chargercity.com/GPS-Accessory/Garmin-GPS-Accessories/Garmin-Nuvi-Series/Garmin-Nuvi-200W-205W-250W-255W-255WT-(4.3-GPS)/MNT-Motorcycle-bike-Mount-by-CCity-for-Garmin-Nuvi-Streetpliot-GPS-c-201-p-317.html http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/2003%20Venture/IMG_3814.jpg My impression: It fits right on my GPS, but it feels a little loose. I don't think it'll come off, but it may move around quite a bit. I am going to build up the ball with some tape to tighten it up. If that doesn't work, I may get a special made one from Skydoc.

2ND GEN. Riders, I NEED Your HELP!
Monty replied to skydoc_17's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Captainjoe... If you spray a lubricant on the stem of the shock, then dirt and debris will stick to it, causing an even more premature seal failure. Was a nice thought, though. -

Does it have to be a salt water beach, or can it be a fresh water beach, as in a big lake. It doesn't specify.
-
Can't find much about it, other than Sam's Club sold it back in 2006 for $69.

There is probably a valve that you have to tighten to make it pump up...just like any other hydraulic jack.

Haven't been there ....yet. We live on the other side of the state in West Tennessee. Roadkill......she loves it!!

Yeah, my first gen got about 5000 miles on it in the first few months last year.

You could cut two notches in the bottom of your t-handle to be able to turn the release without bending over. The springs get stretched out after a while, and it's a good idea to put a new one on now and then...in my opinion. They also make an air lift, but...

My first ride on a 2007 Midnight Venture
Monty replied to CaptainJoe's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have seen a lot of posts about low speed handling, and the bike being top heavy on here. To be honest, it had me a little apprehensive when I first sat on the bike. I was a bit worried that I might have bit off more than I can chew. But.... the first time I took off, I knew it was gonna be ok. The bike feels "different" than my first gen, but not really much heavier. I have made several 180 degree tight turns, two up, and a few were on gravel. It actually doesn't feel bad at all. Now, I don't know what(if anything) Roadkill or Buddy might have done to make turning easier. I do know it has the narrower front tire, according to b2dad. I think it is a great handling bike, although I think the Venoms make it kinda squirrelly. That could be from the narrower tire though. The front seems to wander around, and just feels loose. Prob just the tire. Take the rider course, and then you may feel that it handles better, or that you will find new habits to learn, that make things easier on you. I still plan on taking a course someday, just to see what else I can learn to make our experience that much better...and safer. -

We had nice weather until about 5pm, when it started raining. We rode around and showed off our new ride. It was nice to have a day without snow or rain for once.

Well, someone who had just bought one was emailing him with some questions. I guess they had a Harley AND a Venture. Yes, we are working on crafting an adapter for the Venture. Probably won't happen until he gets back from Daytona. The turntable only works with certain Harleys right now. I think it's for the Dynas. Those are what he designed it for.
