Also, the crankcase should be oil/gas mix. The trans will use 20w50 or gear oil, whichever one it calls for.

KD80? not a KX or KDX? I always mix it in the tank. 4 ounces oil/gallon, which is 32:1. On one with a separate tank, I would empty the oil tank, and mix it in the gas tank. Safer that way, in case something goes wrong with the oil injection part. Just my 2 cents. BTW, I have an owners manual for the small KX/KDX bikes. If that's what he has, he's more than welcome to it. We don't have the bikes anymore.

When my sons were 4 and 5 years old, I started them riding. Me, my wife and both boys had dirt bikes for several years. We had GREAT times going camping and riding, going to new riding places, and motocross racing. It's a family love for riding, even to this day. My boys tell me they are soooo glad that I taught them to ride. My oldest son still rides with me today, as he bought my old bike from me(dirt cheap). Other son is contemplating his next ride, after riding one last week. If hobbies are a family thing, it's much easier on the whole crew. Get them started early. Even if you don't ride on the street again, at 28, you can still enjoy playing in the dirt.

Sorry guys, but they just don't make 'em this purty anymore. I get comments on her almost daily...mostly Hardly riders. I even have 2 guys that are selling their new Ultras, and buying RSVs. Their words....." I'm just tired of having to put it in the shop every time I turn around." RSVs are getting more popular. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/DSCN4500.jpg

I can get a case of bottles in my 2nd gen...easy. Still in the cartons too......6 pack cartons. -
Yeah, but if ya wanna get $hitty while at MD(or anywhere else), it's safer to just fall over in (hopefully) your tent, rather than try to drive somewhere. Not that I've done it... I'm just sayin'.

All I can say is, you have to do what's in your heart. Myself, if my wife told me(she never would) that I can't ride anymore, I'd have to tell her too bad, because I love it so much. If you live your life, and don't do the things you enjoy doing, yhen you've wasted it, and there was no reason for living. Sure, you take a chance every time you get on the bike, but that's what life is about. You could die just as quickly in a cage, or at work. Life is too short. Enjoy every minute of it, whatever you decide.

My wife always brings a big empty coffee can. The plastic ones are a little quieter.
