  1. Most lightbars here have the yellow cautions integrated into them for safety. I think it's starting to become the norm. My patrol unit had them.
  2. I will be bringing some o-rings with me.
  3. I just used the o-ring by itself also. No leaks so far.
  4. Really, doing it on the trike wasn't any different at all. The volts gauge only shows 12 volts with it idling, but it reads low, as a meter on the battery actually shows 13.2 volts....and that's with all of the lights on, including the passing lamps and driving lights...and all of Don's body LEDs. He has a good stator! I need to research a better place to tie in with that gauge. Maybe right at the fuse block, with a switched circuit. I am currently tying them in at the 12v power outlet in the fairing, so they read a bit low. Maybe Ponch has a better suggestion.
  5. Went over to Don's(B2dad) this morning and got 'dem gauges installed...finally. Took me about 4 hours, working at a comfortable pace. I needed the practice for MD. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/Image1.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/Image2.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/Image3.jpg The B2 Bomber is good to go for the trip to MD!!
  6. Look at this one. One of our members here makes them. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2175&title=2nd-gen-custom-painted-radiator-grills&cat=7
  7. Spend it helping you guys out.:rotfl:
  8. This is all I've found on when the enricheners are bad. "the bike will pop through the carbs on deceleration."
  9. Anytime. That's what we're here for....mostly.
  10. http://www.luscocorp.com/ http://local.yahoo.com/info-15870288-reliable-fabricating-mfg-incorporated-noblesville http://local.yahoo.com/info-15869830-tmetal-works-incorporated-carmel This one looks promising. http://www.instantmetals.com/
  11. Can is marked at one gallon. I make sure, cause I'm mixing it.
  12. Great! I have had an idea now for quite some time, and they may be just the folks who could help me implement it.
  13. Have a safe trip, and have fun! Put pics up when you can.
  14. I find this hard to believe. Take a gas can and pump one gallon into it, then pay for your one gallon. Whatever is left in the hose belongs to the gas station. You pumped a gallon, and paid for a gallon. Simple as that.
  15. What town do you live in?
  16. Laminate flooring is the way to go...then just use a swiffer.
  17. Look in the yellow pages under "steel". There should be a metal supplier around there somewhere...or a welding shop.

    My new Bike

Now, just enjoy the heck out of it.
  19. Behind the right-hand side cover, like the link shows you. Look at that part breakdown.
  20. Not sure, but if you look up the rotor for both bikes at partshark.com or bikebandit.com, you can compare the part numbers.
  21. It works exactly the way I told you. The only difference with your is, that you have a separate oil tank, and the oil pump injects it into the fuel to mix it before it enters the crankcase. http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/1980-kawasaki-motorcycle-kd80-kd80m1-us/o/m3494 I would skip the oil tank, and just mix it in the gas tank, just in case that oil pump ever fails. Just like any two-stroke, the oil/fuel mix is drawn in thru the reed valve, and goes to the crankcase.
  22. The way a two-stroke works is... When the piston moves down, fuel/oil mix is drawn into the combustion chamber from the crankcase. When the piston moves up, fuel/oil mix is drawn into the crankcase from the carb. to lube the crank. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-cycle So, on a two-stroke, you need oil/gas mix in the tank, and regular oil in the transmission.
  23. Maybe this will help you... http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/kawasaki_kd_80_m_1986.php http://www.bikez.com/msgboard/msg.php?id=22087&type=bike I'll look at the manual when I get home from work.
