Well, I drank what Debbie conjured up. I didn't get to try the "Sue brew". I musta been confused....or something. Oh well, there's always next time.

We had a great time, and thought the organization worked out great. There was something planned every day, yet plenty of downtime to get to visit and relax, and enjoy each other's company. Actually got the time to get to know some people. Excellent job!

Well, we pulled it with 60 lbs tongue weight to the Int'l rally and back. Also had a trunk rack bag stuffed to the hilt. 1100 miles round trip, mostly 70-75 mph. Pulled like a dream. I had 42 lbs in my rear tire, and 48 lbs in the rear shock. No problems whatsoever. Thanks for the input guys.

Progressive fork springs
Monty replied to Jimod's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Someone will chime in for sure, but I thought it was 13 ounces in each fork. -
I drank that witches brew:witch_brew:, but there wasn't any Captain in it....all I got was something called Tequila, so I guess I missed out. I dooo love the Captain, tho.

We're home, safe and sound. No rain for us, but it was pretty hot. We saw a truck flipped on it's side on an exit ramp in Indiana. I hope the driver was ok. 540 miles. We sure do love that Corbin seat!

We made it home too. 540 miles. It was a long hot day! Angel and I had a blast! Thanks to Kevin and Sue for all the hard work. We got to spend lots of quality time with other members, getting to know each other better. It really was a relaxed and fun time. We'll have some pictures too, just not right now......too tired...lol.

Isn't shermozzle one of the words in the Laverne & Shirley song?

We are holed up in Effingham, Illinois for the rest of the night. We rode all night, after a 12 hour shift at work. The weather is gorgeous out. No heat, and hardly any traffic at all. Saw several deer though, and one rollover wreck. See ya tomorrow!

If not, open the calendar, center it on your screen, then hit "printscreen"(PrtScn). Then open up Paint and click paste. Then, you can save it as an image. I think you can also print it by right clicking on it and selecting print.

Yeah it's open, but while it was closed, they took the time to put a speedbump every 50 feet.

It appears that Auto Zone sells the kit. It's called an oxygen sensor thread repair kit. Yes, it is M18 x 1.5 Auto Zone loans all of their tools, so see if they will sell you an insert from the kit, or if you have to replace the insert. You just go and tell them you want to borrow the kit, and they make you leave a deposit, which is the price of the kit, then when you return it, you get the money back. I've used it many times.

Advance Auto Parts sells these kits in various sizes. Here is one size... http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Fix-A-Thread-Kit-Alcoa-Fastening-Systems_9020045-P_N3482_T%7CGRP2016____ "Kits include everything required to repair stripped or worn threads. Handle provides a base for the tap and it also installs the insert and breaks the tang. " Napa has the inserts here. http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Detail.aspx?R=BK_7703079_0006396280 EDIT: Here is the complete kit from Auto Zone. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/OEM-M18-oxygen-sensor-repair-kit/_/N-26gb?counter=0&filterByKeyWord=thread+repair+oxygen+sensor&fromString=search&itemIdentifier=94872_0_0_

Glad to see he's ok, and it wasn't much worse. True, the gear woulda helped with the road rash, but we all know how collar bones get broken.....helmet....beats a crushed skull though.

I have the trailer loaded for the International Rally, and it seems I will have about 60 lbs tongue weight. This is by measuring with a bathroom scale at the correct hitch height. I have read where several on here have had no problems with 45-75 lbs tongue weight. The trailer pulls really nice, but I didn't have it quite this heavy for MD. I have most of the weight forward and over the axle, and the wife and I weigh about 325 lbs combined. Any thoughts or concerns I should worry about?

I just had mine cut down 2 inches, so I can see over it in the rain and fog. Took about 20 minutes and $25.00. Looks great too!

HELP!!!! Starter relay buzzing.
Monty replied to Obber's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Disconnect the relay, apply 12 volts across the coil, and see if it clicks or buzzes. It's possible that you arced the contacts and damaged them, but not very likely. Test the plug at the positive side of the coil, and look for 12 volts. Test the negative side for good continuity to ground. Then, check the 12 volt switched source(the voltage that the relay allows to continue on to the starter), and see if you have a good 12 volts there. You could jumper across the switched contacts in the plug, to see if the starter will engage without the relay. -
How did you lose your router and cordless drill? You should just be able to let them dry out thoroughly before use, with no harm done.

I bought my shock at Advance Auto Parts. Verrrry hard to compress when installing them, but well worth it. My lid pops up when I unlock it now. I can post pics of the setup later today if you want. My trailer already had a shock, but was worn out.
