Thanks for the info, Bill. I have been hoping to get to meet him at the Hub, so lets hope he gets his bike fixed, and is feeling up to going. Congestive Heart Failure can take a lot of energy out of you.

I am a former EMS First Responder. I just downsized my jump bag into one of those little soft-sided coolers, and carry it in my saddlebag. When I pull the trailer, I carry the bigger stuff, like ambu bag, splints, c-collars, etc... Fish AKA Bikedropper actually had to use my kit at the International Rally, to help a little girl that had wrecked her bicycle, and cut her toe.

Or....now that you're older, your eyesight might not be as good, so it doesn't bother you as much.

What does your temp gauge read?
Monty replied to SilvrT's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have seen mine hit 247 in very heavy traffic, on a REALLY hot day. It still wasn't hot enough to make the temperature light come on, though. -
Model 900. Just like this one, except mine is grey. http://firstrespondernetwork.com/items/products/vests/cooling-vests/miracool-cooling-vest-detail.htm

Hummingbird, When I was behind you, and you saw it modulating, it was on high beam. When it wasn't modulating, it was on low beam. Just wanted to clarify that.

I have one, and will use it until they make it illegal, which I doubt will ever happen. I see a lot of people noticing me now, where they didn't before.

See, I knew you could do it. You just gotta make up your mind, and just do it...and it might've taken a little ribbing too, to get you off your butt, and get it done.:rotfl:

Why a 3/4? You should be able to do it with a 3/8, or even a 1/4 inch set. You wanna tighten them, not kill them. Torque setting....usually, one grunt will do for those. Only two bolts that I remember. One on each end of the horn bracket.

Wolo air horn.......simple install....even a "caveman" could do it.

Yes! I have a Miracool, and it works great. They are pretty cheap too.

If you think it's hot outside, you should come to the power plant where I work. It's common for 160-170 degree temps inside. I use one of these sometimes while working, riding or just mowing the yard. Works pretty good too. http://cgi.ebay.com/MiraCool-Cooling-Vest-Poncho-Reversible-/260627274298?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cae989a3a

Good you made it home. Sounds like you had a nice, leisurely trip home, with no rush. We're gonna have to get our passports sometime, and ride up that way.

Well, I drank what Debbie conjured up. I didn't get to try the "Sue brew". I musta been confused....or something. Oh well, there's always next time.

We had a great time, and thought the organization worked out great. There was something planned every day, yet plenty of downtime to get to visit and relax, and enjoy each other's company. Actually got the time to get to know some people. Excellent job!

Well, we pulled it with 60 lbs tongue weight to the Int'l rally and back. Also had a trunk rack bag stuffed to the hilt. 1100 miles round trip, mostly 70-75 mph. Pulled like a dream. I had 42 lbs in my rear tire, and 48 lbs in the rear shock. No problems whatsoever. Thanks for the input guys.

Progressive fork springs
Monty replied to Jimod's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Someone will chime in for sure, but I thought it was 13 ounces in each fork.
