I just came home, and was looking for the usual drunk post, but I can't find anywhere to post to. Angel always says "oh no, you're not drunk posting again, are you?" I worked all week, and took a day to get hosed before I go back tomorrow, and was gonna indulge myself on here....and you left me no drunk-worthy material to post to.....shame on you! I still love you guys though.....lol!! P.S. I don't care what you guys think of the "I love you guys" post this time, either..... I am comfortable in my heterosexuality.......nyah nyah nyah. P.P.S. can ya tell, I have been drinking?

My Dad has a lot of health problems, thanks to Agent Orange. He is finally on VA 100% disability for it. A while back, we sold his 2006 Road King, as it was too heavy for him to hold up. He has neuropathy in his legs, and he also has Parkinson's. After selling the RK, he bought Midnite's 1100 Vstar, because it was much lighter, and had a lower seat height. Although it was easier for him to ride, he still had problems with it, so he sold it also. We decided it would be safer on four wheels, and since he probably doesn't have too many good years left, it was time to just say "%&$@ it", and just go borrow the money, and buy himself a nice car. The car is a 1948(same year he was born) Ford Super Deluxe Coupe. It has had a LOT of work done in the restoration, and it sports a mildly built Chevy 350. It also has power steering, power brakes, front disc brakes, and cruise control. We are going to add air conditioning. He is a happy camper now.

You did good, Gene. If he would have seen his son, things could have escalated in a bad way. You did exactly the right thing, in keeping him occupied. Dealing with a child in that situation really sucks. I know it all too well, and way too many times. It will get easier, but as was already said, you have to talk about it. Talking about it helps. If not, you can always see a grief counselor. I feel for ya Bud, just hang in there.

Looking forward to it!!

This was nominated for best joke of the year.
Monty replied to E-Fishin-C's topic in Jokes and Humor
It was funny, but no where near the funniest joke of the year. More like a true story. If you want a funny joke, I got one for you. -
When I lived up north, and I had to let my bike sit over the winter, I would put a good coat of wax all over the paint and chrome, then take the wax off in the spring. Seems to help keep the moisture off, and protect the surfaces.

Ted, I'm glad to hear that at least one burden has been lifted off of you, although I know you'll miss it. Hopefully, you'll be back on your feet soon, and can get another bike. Your sick family members are in our thoughts here. I know you've been having a rough ride lately. Take care Bud, Monty

I rode through the park, and around the cabins yesterday, but I didn't see any Ventures, or any Mississippi tags.

Well, the Boss Hoss National Rally is here again this coming weekend. There will be LOTS of bikes here, not just Boss Hoss. It is also the Mid-South Motorcycle Festival. http://www.bosshosscountry.com/ A few of us were discussing these the other day, and I found a few photos of the one I was talking about. This guy is from Vermont, and owns his own machine shop. He and his wife both ride Boss Hoss trikes, but he stretched his out, and it now has two, yes two 502 engines in it. He said it makes 1050 HP. The guy does very nice work! http://thumb9.webshots.net/t/72/72/9/76/81/2472976810035120669xZhGdv_th.jpg http://thumb9.webshots.net/t/55/755/1/34/65/2838134650035120669lnetac_th.jpg http://thumb9.webshots.net/t/71/71/8/35/7/2916835070035120669JIAAhR_th.jpg

We are all holed up at the Drury Inn, in Festus, Mo. No rain yet.
-
We are heading up tonight, to get there before the rain does. We'll be in a different hotel somewhere tonight, and ride on in tomorrow.
-
Looks like we're gonna have LOTS of rain. Flash flood warnings for the area.

My '83 only had 56k on it, so not unlikely. My brother owns it now, and it still runs. At 50k, the 2nd gear problem probably just showed up, so he wants to dump it.

Good to hear! Be careful.
