  1. Very nice! How long did it take? Did you rake it any? Is there space for a spare fuel tank?
  2. Mine works. You can host them here also. http://imageshack.us/
  3. Are you running E3's? All of my E3's have always made noise in tight curves. I still think they're the best tire out there, though.
  4. 2010 flames
  5. Where's the cassette player?
  6. Twigg, name calling and personal attacks have no place here. This is a friendly discussion.
  7. Welcome to the world of 1st Gens. I used to live there too.
  8. This is a brass monkey. They did exist.
  9. I'm not talking so much about a regular windshield. I mean the HUGE shields, and getting wind off your knees, etc... LOTS of deflectors out there.
  10. The one I use is a 14" narrow F4 shield with vent. It's short enough that I can look over it, while still sending the rain up and over me. I get a little wind, but I like it. My wife says it is fine also. She remembers what it's like to ride back there with no windshield, and didn't like that a bit. This 14" seems to suit both of us just fine.
  11. Now, I don't like to ride without any windshield at all, unless I am wearing a full faced helmet. That's mostly just because of my eyes watering too much. Keep 'em coming.
  12. I just don't get it. Maybe it's an age thing? Maybe someone can explain it to me, without getting into an arguing match. I see thread after thread about how the wind is touching someone, and they want to get it off. Gargantuan windshields, upper deflectors, lower deflectors, side deflectors, leg deflectors...etc... Part of riding a motorcycle is that feeling of freedom, and getting a little wind in your face. Without the wind, it seems like you might as well be in a cage. I don't want a pi$$ing match. I just thought I might be able to discuss this with friends, and maybe understand it a little better, that's all.
  13. With windshields, I prefer the F4, because it is made from shatterproof plexiglass. The clearview can shatter when struck with an object, and it doesn't take much. I have a shattered Clearview in my shed, and a new F4 on the bike. I feel better. Hope this helps.
  14. Now the kids will just tease her because she went and had plastic surgery. Kids are just mean, anyway. I too think Mommy did it for herself. The little girl even said she wasn't being teased at school, but Mommy had heard other grown ups say something about the ears. I think Mommy was embarrassed of her little girl, so she got her fixed up, to meet those other adults' expectations.
  15. Happy Birthday Annie!! See ya soon.
  16. I bought an F4 windshield that is 14" tall. I get a little buffeting, but I like some wind in my face...that's why I ride a motorcycle.
  17. That's the best color of them all.
  18. I am jealous!
  19. I've seen those. I'm gonna get me one too.
  20. The world always has been, and always will be at odds with each other...thanks to religious fanatics. They want you to believe the way they do, or die.......infidels!

Military pay is a touchy subject and could be at risk if the federal government shuts down. While expressing hopes that a federal shutdown will be avoided, the U.S. Defense Department said it has plans in place in case the shutdown becomes reality. "The department remains hopeful that a government shutdown will be averted," Deputy Defense Secretary William J. Lynn III said Thursday in a message to Pentagon workers. "However, prudent management requires that we plan for an orderly shutdown should Congress be unable to pass a funding bill before our current funding expires on April 8." Operations and activities essential to safety, protection of human life and protection of U.S. national security, are "excepted" from the shutdown, Lynn said. The Defense Department will maintain operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Japan; Libya-related support operations and "other operations and activities essential to the security of our nation." Military personnel aren't subject to furlough and will report for duty as normal, he said. Civilian employees will be briefed by their supervisors by Friday on whether "their work and responsibilities fall into excepted or non-excepted status," Lynn said. "The fact that certain functions are not excepted or that certain personnel may be subject to furlough should not be taken as a statement that the secretary or I or the department do not value those functions or employees," he said. If the government shuts down, the Defense Department "will have no funds to pay military members or civilian employees for the days during which the government is shut down," his message said. "However, both military and civilian personnel will receive pay for the period worked prior to the shutdown." Personnel in excepted positions are entitled to be paid for work during the shutdown, and will be paid retroactively once funding becomes available, Lynn said. Congress would have to provide the Pentagon authority to retroactively pay non-excepted employees. Retirees aren't paid from annually appropriated funds, so their benefits should continue uninterrupted, he said. Source: UPI

  25. I wonder if he was ever able to get the vent installed into his new shield? Like me, I'll bet he said a few choice words.
