  1. Have a safe trip, and try to stay outta trouble. I know that'll be tough for you to do.
  2. Windshield is sufficient in Illinois.
  3. Don't know why, because it looks nothing like a "u". That's just how it's always been...lol.
  4. Glad you caught it just in time. By the way, Carl, the "cross" is the actual u-joint.
  5. Thanks Boomer, & right back at ya. This is a somber day, that we all should sit back & give thanks to all those who didn't come home. I think most of today's generation doesn't have a clue what it's all about.
  6. My sentiments exactly, Brad. To all my brothers & sisters out there who made it back...Welcome home.
  7. Make sure you drink plenty of water before you get here.
  8. Two of the pushrods are aluminum. The other two are steel.
  9. Bent pushrods are caused by the valve guides on the exhaust valves coming off their seat, and moving toward the outside. VERY common problem on these engines. When you pull the valve covers to check the valves, see if the guides have moved out, or if they are flush with the housing. You can call me, and I can explain it better & tell you how to fix it. 731-642-5091
  10. Seeing that it is an '83, has the 2nd gear issue already been addressed? If not, this would be a good time to do so.

Ray, we sure missed seeing you & Joan this week. Looks like all of the storms moving through there are headed our way now. Got a little rough here at 4am. Supposed to be off & on all day.
  12. This is him & Elizabeth Davidovich...
  13. Maybe you'll get a chance to meet my buddy and old shipmate John Cooper. He is a stuntman, and dies on just about every episode. He plays zombies of course.
  14. I hate it for all of those poor people. Glad you're ok. Hope this ends soon.
  15. I have the 100 led light back there, plus a big led strip under my trunk. I wired the strip with the back-off setup, but not the main tail/brake light. Seems to work well. Back-off shouldn't give you any problems either way.
  16. What is this "trailer" thing you speak of? Are you buying a Harley?
  17. Have a safe trip home. Was good to see you & Becky again.
  18. Glad you & Peg made it home ok. We were wondering. Hope all of your family is ok. Enjoyed seeing you two again, even if we didn't get to talk much.
  19. Barry, I met you briefly, and shook your hand, but didn't get a chance to talk to you much. I had the other '03, sitting down a ways. That's the thing about these meets...they are all too short!! You meet up with old friends, and like to shoot the BS, and you don't get time to move around and talk to everyone as much. I would have liked to have had more time to spend with each person there, but it's hard to do. We'll meet again.
  20. I just updated mine.
  21. My E3's were only $278 for the set, from Jake Wilson. I have had several sets of E3s, on both 1st and 2nd gen. They are great tires, and ride very well. They are a little noisy in the curves, but not enough to bother me.

    Heading home

Careful getting home. Was good to see you two again.
  23. Terrible news! Hope he has a fast recovery.
