We went riding this weekend, and I found this... http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/royal20blue.jpg I bought it for $2000. Mine has more lights on the back, is in excellent shape, and the paint matches my bike exactly(stroke of luck). I just pulled it 150 miles home. It pulls great! Did I get hurt:thumbdown:, or did I do good?

Sorry to hear it, but at least you'll be ok. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

After some quick research, I see that the overheating stems from EPA regulations forcing Harley to make these new engines run leaner, which causes more heat. You can remap the computer to richen the mixture, which will cool it down. This may cause the bike to not pass emissions testing, and may not be covered under warranty. You can also install an oil cooler, and use a good synthetic oil, which reduces friction.

The new larger bore Harley engines tend to overheat at redlights, so Harley has set it up where the engine only fires on one cylinder during those times, to reduce overheating. I haven't really looked into the whys of overheating, but I think it may have to do with the larger bore, and thinner cylinder walls. I could be wrong.

Check out this one. It's for sale. http://www.sgcustomcycles.com/enfield.htm I am riding down there tonight, and will be there all day tomorrow. Sam owns more bikes than anyone I know. Check out the videos on the site.

I have no problem with Ivan, or anyone else here. It was all in fun. I gave up Law Enforcement years ago, because I got tired of dealing with all of the unruly, disrespectful, spoiled brats of todays youth. Not worth the time and money. I was a well respected Officer, believe it or not. I was actually too nice. I believed in treating people as I would want to be treated. As a civilian, I still see people that I arrested almost on a daily basis, and most of them shake my hand and talk to me. Ride Safe.

Raining cats and dogs here right now.

Pics!!!....it's the rules.

That's me. That's what I mean by "personality".

I am also thinking about buying an Ultra next year. I have had friends (Harley riders) tell me that the Goldwing is the way to go. I just think the Goldwing lacks personality.....what do you guys think?

I didn't get to see either link...they wouldn't work. I used to have a Bayliner Capri with a 2.3 liter OMC outboard. I bought a 28 ft Harris Flote Boat pontoon with a 120hp Mercruiser inboard(2.5 liter Chevy), and we fish, swim, tube, party/drink lotsa beer from it. It's the best boat we've ever owned. We either beach it, and bbq on the bank while we swim and drink(yes, we like to drink, so sue me), or we tie it off to my sisters' pontoon, and make a floating party barge. We wouldn't have anything else. If anyone here wants to enjoy a day or two out on the largest man-made lake in the world, just PM me, and we can make it happen. I am very accomodating. Patrick

Sorry to hear about your cancer, but enjoy it while you can. I say our time here is very limited, so enjoy what you can. Fair winds and following seas to you my brother!!

LOl Ivan. I soooo would have shot your a$$, or at least, I would have tazed you...just to see you wiggle. I got tired of playing games with the crybabies long ago....sorry.....no sympathy here....I will shock you in a heartbeat.

According to the manual, you just remove the 11 bolts holding it on. The nut does not have to come off.

I raced motocross for several years, and wearing "full" protective gear CAN sometimes give you the impression of being bulletproof, and make you take chances you normally wouldn't. I didn't always wear a seatbelt, until I started working Emergency Services. Picking up bodies from roads, fields and ditches that probably would have survived if they had had the seatbelt on, instead of being ejected, changes your perspective. I ALWAYS wear one now.

The radios wouldn't bother me. It's those darn helicopters you can't get away from.

Thank You Sir, Thank You!! Be Safe, and stay away from that homemade hooch.

I remember my teen years on my XS 1100, when I could outrun the cops and get home to shut the garage door with me safe inside, engine hot and "tinging" like crazy after I shut it off. Those were the days. Not so easy to do that stuff now.

Thanks guys. I have signed up on the forums, so it's a good start. My forum name there is Fireman519. Oh, and I found out on the forums that they were sending off some TNARNG troops. They were escorting them to Ft. Campbell to deploy. I had bad information in my 1st post.

Today, I heard a bunch of bikes outside, and when I looked, there were motorcycle troopers leading 2 buses full of Ft. Campbell soldiers coming back home. They were followed by about 50 riders, and several cars, all displaying flags. It was pouring rain...hard...really hard. I am sure they were Patriot Guard members. I have thought about joining the Patriot Guard for some time now, and I know there are several members on here. Could one of you hook me up with a number and name of a chapter that is close to me in West Tennessee? I would REALLY appreciate it. Us Vets like to take care of each other. Thanks in advance. Patrick

That was just...wrong!

Right now, TVA is not hiring for any of those positions, BUT there are several contractors who do our pipefitting and such. If you're a Boilermaker, then contact your Union to see what we have available. I am a TVA Steam plant operator.

I could NEVER go back to dial-up...never. I have had 10mb cable for the last several years, and I am addicted. When I buy my next house, high speed availability is a prerequisite before buying...yes, it's that bad.
